Sorry mates
Based, will do this too, even tho im not old and i am not a guard.
Uhhhg that makes me big sad. Charlie was the first squad I played when I was new. I got welcomed in with open arms. Charlie Breakfasts and RP were the norm. We were effective (not as robust as the Deltas ofc) but still kept groundside stuff interesting with RP when we weren't occupied with xenos. A lot of the vets have left, and the few OGs still around don't play too much.
Did this for a couple rounds, it was amazing fun! One round the mess sergeant even served us booze they stole from CIC and half of Charlie ended up deploying drunk. I'll definitely be doing this every op I can in the future!
The reason why I started Charlie Breakfasts was to try emulate the pre drop banter and sense of comradeship between members of the squad, and partially because I wanted newest players to feel welcome and part of a squad.
I only really stopped it when I found the squad became a bit too cliquey and I found MP roleplay to usually be more reliably solid.
Due to the new squad Req system, I find Charlie Breakfasts more difficult to find time for. I think altering roundstart to allow more potential rp would be a step in the right direction.

Spoiler:
No one has time for breakfast anymore (even though getting equipped is much faster than before). But if anyone tries to do it I'll surely join. Of course, it has to be in cryo canteen, not R&R.
You have my M5 Bayonett.
It would be much easier to make breakfasts happen if everyone starts with headsets, or SLs could set squad objectives
