    Unitystation, /tg/ codebase SS13 on the unity engine...

    Okay so, this is actually very exciting. Firstly, we may finally break the curse of getting SS13 off of Byond! Secondly, they are basing it off /tg/ codebase which is important because... CM uses /tg/ codebase for 75% of its code.

    We could get CM on Unity, the gunplay and speed of interaction would go to a level never before seen in CM. It would be the dream...

    Looks pretty smooth, I wonder how the gunplay would be in that.

    Would be hard for some devs to move from one platform to the other, but it definitely looks better. Also it would have to be able to run on the same or less specced systems as that's one of the attractions of byond. Shitty computer gang

    Call it a chronic skepticism in today's world of gaming. Where free normally shuts down without finishing, where donations end up with a half finish product and games you pay for are complete but often leave you with a feeling of regret. Open source ends up adding some of the most bizarre shit because at the time it sounded really funny to do. Plus the unity engine is much like java script nowadays.
    Still my point is, wait and see. There are many things that can happen and I really don't want to piss on your parade and hope but how many times has an SS13 remake crashed and burned?

    Can't wait to it to come out and be moddable, i feel like unity will flood so fast and hopefully won't be long till another military mod to it (and with hope a CM military mod)

    We can't move to that due to licensing reasons.

    Also Unity is not good with 100+ players on.

    Tis unfortunate, but this will not be "it" for us. Maybe something new and separate... and not forced GPL/AGPL

    This is false. We are removing (and removed) a lot of TG legacy stuff from our code because we don't need it at all
