Basic Questions & StoryWhat do you think is the job of a Commander?
Besides ensuring the operation is working well and keeping the order in the Almayer, the role/job of Commanding Officer holds multiple purposes, from tactical, support, information, and RP. And first of all, make the round a good experience for the marine side.

You are the one which the majority of the Platoon looks after, you have the power to boost your marines morale and coordinate the marine side, shaping and giving direction to the marine side.

From a mechanical and gameplay perspective, from the CIC and Almayer, you can relay information and enemy positions, load the OB, man Req, help with hauling objects and bodies out of the dropships just to name a few, besides your skills in the medical and engineering area, and of course, roleplaying.

As a CO, most of time, you are the main tool Event Maintainers and Staff members have to make events, as you are the leader of the marine force. Having the role of Captain doesn't only mean you have to be effective in combat and support but also be able to go along with events, crises, and roleplay situations that will happen from time to time.

Why do you want to be a Commanding Officer?
As part of my self-development and as a way to have more freedom with my strategies and plans, several players expressed their desire to see me as a Captain so why don't give it another try.

What do you think you could contribute by being whitelisted?
I believe, that by my way of commanding, I can bring a fair environment for the marine side.

As my own modus operandi, I believe we need to always correct our mistakes and find new ways to do what is considered by many, the standard.

On my long way as a XO, I have always tried new strats, manners of communication, briefings areas, absolutely everything under my power, some worked, some not, some have been abandoned, some created new strategies and that is how I seek to continue, not only improving myself but the marine side as a whole.

How will your Commanding Officer behave? Describe their character.
Elzbieta always ensure the vessel/operation is working well, checking all departments before the briefing time, from helping Requisitions if understaffed to loading the Orbital Strike herself if the situation asks for it, besides helping the POs, Medbay or even rank-and-file marines in need of a helping hand.

She believes for that a ship to work well, Command needs to have good bonds with their subordinates and build a proper relation of comradeship, always seeking to communicate and know well every sector of her ship and how they work, as at the end of the day, divisions are merely made for the organization but victory is achieved when all of them work together as a single unit.

Name and briefly describe your Commanding Officer's own ship.
    -

I would like to leave this step for once and if I get whitelisted as a CO so I can put proper efforts into building a detailed ship with a consistent story.

Your story (potential topics listed below)
ExperienceHow experienced are you with the position of a Squad Leader (SL)?
Squad Leader is my second most played role just before XO, I have played it for a fair amount of time and I know the hangs of leading both a force on the ground and on the ship.

How experienced are you with the position of a Staff Officer (SO)?
Before moving up to my main role, Commander, I had to first go through the first steps of learning Command, that being the role of SO, which I learned to it's fullest before making up my reputation as a good XO.

How experienced are you with the position of a Department Head?
Played a good amount of all heads for at least a short amount of time, mainly CMP to get the hangs of being in charge of MPs and expanding my knowledge of the Marine Law.

How experienced are you with the position of the Executive Officer (XO)?
Well, that question is more than answered at this point, I am arguably and well knew as the XO with the highest amount of experience and hours in the whole community so far, playing it for a long amount of time requires you to have the state of mind to do so, as the role can be even harder than playing CO, due the less amount of power and authority that you use to coordinate the USS Almayer and its crew.

I believe I learned everything I could and more, from the number of tiles on CIC to how to deal with all types of situations and people.

How familiar are you with Marine Law and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)?
I am already used with Marine Law and SOP, either by playing a fairly amount of rounds as an MP in the past, studying the wiki and by having constant contact with it being on my long journey as a XO.

ScenariosWhen do you believe a Battlefield Execution should be used? List some examples of scenarios in which a battlefield execution would be correctly used.
    Regular execution procedures.
Regular execution procedures should be carried out on criminals under MP custody with permission of the present CO and/or the CMP and XO on board the ship as stated by the Marine Law, such criminals may have committed Capital Crimes with the ''Execution'' punishment listed or if their brig time surpasses the time of 1 hour.

The difference between regular execution procedures and Battlefield Execution and situations where it should be performed.
Differing from the regular execution, the Battlefield Execution, due such responsibility, is a right granted only for Commanding Officers that may decide if it is necessary or not for the well being of the operation. The BE instantly removes a character and player from the round and needs to be used wisely, in such cases:

    - Situations far from Military Police Enforcement and unable to be dealt with through Marine Law such as the own battlefield
    - Cases of Griefing
    - Immediate Response to IC threats that fulfill the criteria for Battlefield Execution including Threat to Command, Operation well-being, and other situations.
    - Response to malicious intent of usurping the legitimate command structure established on the vessel
They may not be under custody or arrested as well.

How do I view its use.
BE is on many times, the only way to deal with rogue marines and griefers that are severely affecting the round and the player's experience around them in a bad manner, that way, being a tool that may be used when necessary if the situation is favorable to it, but also not overused.

Under what circumstances do you believe it is legal to pardon a prisoner? What are some examples of crimes you would pardon, and those you would not?
Captains are able to pardon from minor to major crimes but definitely not capital crimes.

To pardon someone, I would firstly look at his accusations and take in his explanation for what reason and motive he did such crime, understanding the situation as a whole.

After doing so, I would analyze if it would benefit or harm the operation by pardoning such criminal, taking into account the responsibility that lies with me after pardoning someone.

As an example: 2 Specialists decide to actively insult and disrespect the MPs for a good amount of time until the point an MP decides to arrest them both for DaSO, minutes before deployment.

Seeing how the custody of half our Specs for a minor crime would cripple our main force, severely decreasing our power right on the first deployment, I choose to pardon both of them.

What is your routine after starting the round as either a Staff Officer or Executive Officer? Assume you joined round-start and are inside your quarters.
I will use a scenario where I am a aCO XO for example.

Once the round starts, I move out of my spawn point (XO's office), formulating and deciding on the round's plan, choosing an LZ, giving the initial announcement with the time for briefing and properly delegating my CIC crew, then checking all the squads and their respective marines together with the crew manifest.

After seeing the crew manifest, I usually contact all departments and see if they require any help or has any requests to be attended to, if not, I move on to adjust the MGAD and set up the Orbital Cannon, then moving to get what I consider, vital equipment for myself, such as medical belts and so on.

Once the time for briefing is over, I will steadily coordinate it and make clear the objectives of every squad and SL, announcing the orders afterward, together with the deployment time.

How would you handle insubordinate departments? State what you would do for each department if they were insubordinate.
When dealing with insubordination and/or my crew, as said above in other questions, I will always give them a chance to explain themselves and their motives, misinformation is something that usually plagues the Almayer, many of those situations can be fixed by listening and answering appropriately.

With vital departments such as Req, Med-Sci, Engineering and so on, I would focus on dealing with the issue as fast as possible, giving them the option to give their point on the matter and stand down, if nothing worked, and a department insisted on being insubordinate, MPs would have to intervene on the matter.

In case of a rogue MP battalion, I would have less tolerance but also try to speak and coordinate with the respective CMP into defusing the situation, as the MPs are supposed to be an example to the ship and the last ones to fail with Command.

How would you handle an understaffed CIC? What if you and the XO are the only available CIC crew?
I am quite used to playing on low pop as a Command role, much of those rounds alone in the big empty of CIC. If I were the CO and had a XO under my command, I would properly delegate tasks between both of us so we could output and deal with the operation with ease and max efficiency.

What would you do if you were deployed and a marine told you they were going to desert the operation?
First of all, I would try to speak with the marine directly and see the raw reason behind his desire to desert as morale plays a great role in how marines act and react to things, firstly trying to convince him otherwise, if unable to do so and the marine insisted on deserting while on a combat zone where the use of MPs would be hard if not impossible, I would make use of battlefield execution.

ConfirmationsDo you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?

Do you also understand that you may not edit this application 1 hour after it has been posted?

You received an EORG ban two days ago.

You can BE in custody on Delta alert where normal executions are not possible.

You can actually pardon capital crimes if approved by HC.

This question also lacks an example where you would not pardon somebody.

MPs shouldn't be insubordinate because they aren't allowed to break marine law and are held to stricter standards. Outside of IC punishment you should ahelp.

This question also lacks an example of command insubordination.

I've seen you play plenty of XO and basic competency wise you've done fine despite noticeable hiccups. However, your app answers are nothing special if a bit lacking, and you do seem to have a bit of an ego (had plenty of tries to refine them), but I don't think that's the main issue here. My biggest worry on this app and with you is your history. You've got about 9 notes and 7 bans in the past 6 months. I also am very concerned that you are just simply incapable of the standards we put forth for CO as an RP role. I've constantly seen you spam the chat with LRP non-sense on multiple occasions, your story is quite lackluster, and a lot of your history has to do with your lack of RP and poor temper. It's of my belief you simply don't have the maturity to handle the role but I would like to give you a chance. So I would like to know, what changes if your application is accepted?

Edit: You also edited your app an hour and a minute after submission.

I edited it with the sole purpose of correcting typos, no major changes. Regardless, apologies.

Complementing the question with the example where I would not pardon someone:

On the opposite side, while some minor crimes are easily passable depending on the context and circumstances, I would rather not pardon someone which legally committed a Major Crime, furthermore faxing High Command for someone how made a Capital offense, such as, a Spec which actively engaged into a fight against a fellow squad member which resulted into a minor gunfight, later being arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, the Spec in this case fully knew his actions and what consequences could come with them, going far beyond the limit and pulling up a gun to someone is not something to take lightly and pardoning players in such occasions can create bad behavior.

Complementing the second question about MP's not being able to break the Marine Law and lack of Command insubordination.

Indeed, you are right, MPs may not be allowed to break laws but that often happens, same things as SLs not following direct orders from Command is sort of an OOC issue, yet, in some cases, dealing with issues like that ICly is also important, although ahelping comes at first place.

About Command insubordination, it is relatively rarer as players are held to a higher standard, yet, it also happens, in such case, I would also rather dialogue with my direct subordinates on the issue rather than proceeding with the use of MPs as officers often come into a consensus.

I appreciate your feedback and would also like to explain myself, I am not proud of some things that I did months ago, in reality, I am quite ashamed yet I can't change the past but only the future, while I admit I LRP at times, I keep it exclusively to when I play as a marine PFC to a Squad Leader at the rare best, while playing Command on the past weeks, I hold myself to a higher standard as it should be, I have never done things like that whilst playing as XO or any Command role.

By being a CO, as I said above, it is a chance to go even higher up on the standards and ''start over again'' of sorts.

It's good to hear but I want to see it if I want to believe it. If you can go a month without incident: ban or note including EORG), and you keep that consistent playtime as well as waaay dialing back the LRP and memespeak, I'd have no problem shooting you some questions. Seriously, having you spam MOU MONDAY to the point where it covers multiple lines on the screen and then posting the ahelp on discord screams a huge red flag in regards to maturity. As it stands I just can't support this with what I've seen behaviorally in good faith.

Honestly that's pretty dumb to include EORG as a reason to a -1 as moderators can get on the team with an EORG or even TWO.

Now I know yer familiar with XO and I don't really agree with how you lead and as far as I can tell majority of the plans end in god awful ways but it's your style, not mine.

Now I'd like to actually see you play SL a bit more, I've seen you play it but you haven't really shown anything spectacular in the role and I rarely see you play it as you choose to play XO more, which isn't at all bad as you're still actually doing something CO related.

I'll support you getting this WL but PLEASE play more SL, I'll hop on whatever squad you're leading/observe so I can vouch for your groundside leading capabilities and support this more solidly.

I can attest to Brygida's experience with MP, Command and Head roles. I have seen them grinding XO for months for this application so they have the necessary experience for a CO WL.

I like your plans for operations. Sometimes off meta plans are absolutely better than meta plans. It gets a bit boring to do the same plan every time. Even if you don't win, the most important thing is that you should have fun.

I also had Brygida countless times as XO. They know how to properly lead an operation and organize the marine forces.

The EORG ban can be overlooked in my opinion. Despite what some may say, Brygida has improved a lot since their last applications. They are competent and serious when they are XO and SO. PFCs are not forced to RP because they are mainly a combat role.

I'm going to go with Compy. Play a bit of SL if you can. I am sure more people will come to attest to your behavior and competence when you do so.

It's a POSITIVE vote from me. I wish you the best of luck with the application, Fräulein Elzbieta.
I play as Viktor 'Beer' Kleiner, Matthaus and as Var'dqi Bo'ytill. I have other group of german characters that I am too lazy to put here.

We don't let people on the mod team for having over half a dozen general bans in 6 months, Compy. The apps and positions are apples to oranges.

Hey Lynuah, on your previous application I mentioned that you were a great XO but your skills were ultimatly overshadowed by the fire that rages within you. You took a break from cm and I feel that it really helped you a lot, I've had you as squad leader, XO and all that good stuff. I think that you know what you're doing and I feel that your behaviour is infinitly better now that you're back from your break. Although you got some notes in the past I think most of those are from the pre-break era so hardly relevant right now in my humble opinion. I hope you get the whitelist you worked so hard for +1.

After reviewing your application and taking note with Daniel's observations which I believe well define the flaws in your app, I'd like to maintain my vote from your previous application.

Your competency needs no further input by me, I know you can do the job. The concerns with LRP behavior and shittery are certainly a valid point made, though I believe that your overall behavior in the game is good and as an XO I certainly know you cut the bullshit with any of the previous concerns. OOCly I believe you behave well and have no notable issues.

I'd recommend you play more as not just leadership, but also as PFC and other squad roles so that others may notice your in game behavior to see if you've improved since their last experiences with you.

+1 Good luck, I hope to see this is the one for you.
