Synthetic Character Story
Note: Percival's story begins on a Weyland Yutani colony in 2181 where he was constructed, this colony is also where my character Charles Edwinson was stationed at that time as is in their dossier.
June 3rd, 2181. Weyland Yutani Facility of REDACTED, REDACTED.
The three technicians bathed in their accomplishment, before them sat a tall and perfectly proportioned man with short dark hair and ocean blue eyes. They had done it again, constructed a fully functional Synthetic human. 4X-CC7 would serve excellently.

Percival awoke.
He took in the sight before him, three humans approximately 170 centimetres tall. One mousey haired and pale wearing a startlingly white labcoat with a small green pen in the front pocket. The others were dark haired and tanned with brown labcoats, one male and one female, observing consoles before them. Noticing the wiring emanating from the consoles, Percival realised he was connected to numerous screens and computers and observed the streams of data writhing across the screens.
"Greetings to you, humans. Unit 4X-CC7, Designation Percival, online. How may I help you?" He said with a smooth, pronounced voice.
"Hello Percival. My name is Maurice Walker, I am deputy Synthetic technician to Charles Edwinson, current head of this facility." Responded the mousey haired man.
"How may I assist you, Mr Walker?" Percival queried.
"Your aid would be greatly appreciated in the medical centre, consider it a test run of your capabilities before formal deployment with the USCM per Weyland Yutani contract C3-4-TL"
"I would be most content to oblige you, Mr Walker."
With mechanical ease Percival rose to his feet, and strode purposefully out of the door, the cables popping out of sockets that rapidly sealed as he went.
Mobility motors registering 27% load.
Percival arrived at the medical centre within a few minutes, and rapidly located the Chief Medical Officer striding towards the surgical bay, moving on a smooth intercept course Percival fell in step beside them and queried for instructions. He was met with a shocked stare as he was completely naked before being cautiously asked to oversee and assist in a complex surgery to heal an injured man's internal organs, namely his shredded liver and punctured heart.
Acknowledging his orders Percival drifted off into the Medical Preparation Chamber and swiftly dressed himself in surgical coveralls, along with sterile mask and gloves.
After collecting standard medical equipment and clothes Percival made his way to the surgical bay where he found the medical staff preparing for the upcoming procedure.
"Greetings medicinal staff, I am here to aid you with the procedure upon the instructions of the Chief Medical Officer. Please, what partition of the procedure do you wish me to assist with?" He queried in a smooth inquisitive tone.
After receiving the details of the operational requirements he began to work with a deceptive ease. The surgery was quite simple all it required was...
Percival remained at the Weyland Yutani research facility for the next six months, before being assigned to the USS Sulaco and later the USS Almayer.
May 15th, 2186. LN-937, USS Almayer in orbit.
The USCM have been fighting on LN-937 for the past three weeks, marine casualties are estimated at 59% and Percival has been struck by a near miss mortar strike. Surrounded by the dead and dying his systems begin to reactivate and he begins to treat the wounded as best he can.

Percival awoke to the screams of the marine patrol squad he had been travelling with, at first glance he saw shattered bodies and few survivors, moving immediately towards the nearest marine he scans them quickly and analyses the data within 0.43 seconds. Broken ribs, extensive damage to groin and left leg. Reaching into his Lifesaver belt Percival drew out a bundle of splints and trauma kits, sealing the wounds with bio glue before placing regenerative membranes over them he deftly splinted the marines chest, leg and groin and then administered a group of pills to handle the brute force damage to the marine and to counteract both the pain of his injuries and any possible toxin imbalance from damaged organs in his groin.
Moving onto the next patient Percival was startled to see they had lost both their legs and were entirely immobile but otherwise in perfect health, acting as fast as he could whilst remaining cautious he sealed the stumps where the legs used to be and administered oxycodone, bicaridine and quickclot. He began again with the next patient, scanning them and treating their injuries, all the while searching for hostile contact and attempting to shelter his patients from any harm.
By the time Percival had reached the last survivor, an engineer with a collapsed lung and cranial bleed it was too late, she had passed into the void the humans didnt quite believe in but feared nonetheless, a pity as he was severely damaged but he didnt let it bother him. Searching the dead engineer he found her material reserves and began constructing a barricaded square around the injured, adding lines of barbed wire across their tops to prevent them easily being vaulted. Turning to survey the scene of destruction before him Percival froze as he saw the tall unfamiliar humanoid atop the nearest building. It stared at him unmoving and implacable. Aware of the potential danger, Percival elected to try to communicate with it, seeking aid from any possible source to protect his charges.
Hours passed to no avail, Percival was almost out of medicine and could barely keep the five remaining survivors alive, the humanoid had vanished soon after he tried to talk with it - laughing horrifically before it did. He had seen no CLF forces anywhere, which he thought was cause for concern as they certainly should have come to capture or terminate his remaining charges. Disorganised and untrained they may be, they were still ruthless and savage, it surprised him that none had come to finish the job. No matter, despite the suspicious circumstances having no hostiles around made things much easier, coaxing those that could stand onto their feet he placed the two other survivors onto foldable roller beds and guided the group to the communications centre, in the home he could contact the USS Almayer and call for help. He also knew he would have to pass the medical bay enroute which would allow him to replenish his near empty medical bag.
The remnants of the marine patrol slowly made their way towards the medical centre, with the two patients in roller beds moaning in pain. Percival kept close eye on the three that were walking beside him, he could see terror and agony plainly on their faces and knew they could snap at any moment. In an attempt to soothe their worries he assured them as soon as they reached the medical centre he would stabilise the two critical patients and get them all evacuated.
Do not fear marines, all is not lost. We are still alive, are we not? Take heart in that, for we survived an attack that should have slain us all. The enemy do not know where we are, they do not know we are alive. Our survival of what should have been a fatal strike will be as a beacon to the other marines in this operation, we can survive no matter what odds we face. The USCM will not surrender and will continue to endure in any fight. This is not the end, and we will escape.
P-perc-c-ival, y-you s-sound li-like youve b-been r-reading sh-sh-shakespeare. Stammered the shotgun toting PFC strapped onto the rollerbed he was pushing.
Well, did it help you, PFC Richards? smiled Percival.
With a pained grimace and hacking cough the marine before him began to laugh. Pleased at this reaction, though concerned the marine may hurt himself, Percival continued to keep up their spirits to the best of his ability. He knew the odds of their survival were decreasing the longer they remained at the compound.
Thirty minutes later found Percival and now only four survivors barricaded thoroughly in the communications centre, the long missing CLF forces had finally turned up in the form of a small patrol, a gunfight broke out and Percival took several small calibre rounds to his left arm which had short circuited and flipped the roller bed he was dragging and exposing the injured marine to a burst of enemy fire that stitched its way across his already crumpled chest, now unable to effectively utilise half of his manipulating capabilities it took much longer than he had anticipated to fortify the communications centre and restore enough power flow to contact the orbiting USS Almayer and call for aid.
Unit 4X-CC7, Designation Percival requesting urgent evacuation of four critically injured marines from LN-937 southern hemisphere Communications Centre
PerciVal, go0d, we aR3 sending aN evacuATion f0rc3 iMMedi4tly, remaiN where you are, came the crackly response, ETA is three- the power cut out.
This is going to be a long day thought Percival as he activated emergency lockdown systems in the communications centre.
Percival was successfully evacuated along with all four surviving marines from his patrol squad six hours later and the CLF forces were... removed... from the planet over the next few days.
April 22nd, 2186. USS Almayer, Research Laboratories.
The USCM encountered a strange multi-caste species of reptiles. Unit 4X-CC7, Designation Percival has been studying captive specimens hatched within the Research Labs of the USS Almayer after marine forces recovered eggs from the AO.

"...Yes Professor, certainly. I'll inform you if they morph again yes.", Percival spoke animatedly into his headset.
He was ecstatic, the creatures bred aboard the ship had metamorphed from small blood streaked worms into significantly larger reptiles after a larval period of only three hours. Percival was preparing to document the growth and metamorphal processes of the alien life in an attempt to discern a viable method to contain or terminate the danger to the marines in the active AO.
Having already been to the surface of the planet to retrieve a data disk for the captain, Percival had minor structural damage from trauma and burns received at the hands - or rather, claws - of a small red reptile that had pounced on him out of the shadows. After striking the reptile in self-defence its bright yellow blood had left his arm with acidic burns.
A growl sounded from Percival's right and he glanced over to see the secured specimen of the same genotype that had attacked him had vanished, and in its place stood a tall darkly coloured bipedal reptile with wicked claws and a dark yellow crest upon it's domed head. Before his very eyes the reptile faded into the wall of the cell, it's outline nearly impossible to discern against the patterned wall. Percival studied the outline of the creature and opted to inform the captain immediately of this development, opening the command radio channel he requested the captain visit the research lab at his earliest convenience.
"I'll be right there, Percival, I'm just finishing up an announcement to the marines." replied the heavily accented captain.
"Please bring Professor Hekmatyar with you Captain, I promised to inform her of any developments."
Five minutes later Captain Spinner walked into the research labs flanked by Commander Wilkins and Professor Hekmatyar.
"Greetings to you, Captain, Commander, and also to you, Professor." Percival smiled warmly.
"Hello, Percival, what have you discovered that was so urgent?" said the inquisitive albino professor.
"The specimen in cell three, Professor." Percival's eyes glinted in the reflected light as he moved to allow the newcomers clear access to the cell.
With a look of intense horror the Executive Officer's mouth dropped open. "We need to call red alert! How did it escape Percival?!"
"Relax Commander, the specimen remains within containment." Percival said soothingly, "Look closely, in the far corner. You might be able to spot it although even my optical sensors struggle to do so."
"Are you telling me that thing is camouflaged with the wall, Percival?" the captain enquired with his eyebrows raised.
"Affirmative captain. Isn't it spectacular? This species is truly fascinating, their varied genotypes to suit the needs of the situation is truly fanta-" Percival's joyous babble faltered as he saw the look upon the grizzled captain. "My apologies, captain. I did not call you here to discuss the interests I perceive in this specimen. No, I called you to discuss the extensive threat this particular genotype represents, and that there may be others with this capability."
With an extensive sigh the captain asked Percival if he had any information on the specimen that would provide an easy way to locate it or to kill it. Percival, saddened that the captain immediately wanted a method of termination nonetheless complied, explaining the reduced speed required to maintain stealth and the crest blending in less than the rest of the body. The captain and executive officer departed the laboratories after he finished, and within ten minutes a system wide alert had gone out to the marines informing them of the stealthy reptiles lurking in plain sight.
Days passed and Percival learnt much about the creatures, the laboratories gained three furhter specimens, those being;
A large, purple and bipedal genotype,
A dark bipedal genotype with a yellow sack protruding beneath it's jaw,
And a smaller, purely black genotype that molded it's own regurgitated bile into thick walls and biostructures.
Percival collected several new burns and dents as he entered the various cells in control conditions to interact with the various specimens, the one with the sack beneath it's jaws spat burning acid at him when he entered the cell, so he naturally named the genotype a 'Spitter'.
The different specimens within the laboratories communicated with growls and hisses that were impossible to decipher by any human, fortunately Percival, after extensive study and analysis was able to replicate the vocal chords of a specimen and attempted to communicate with it. He learnt much about the creatures by speaking with them, even finding out the species was a functional hivemind, all genotypes answering to a Queen that could communicate with them from across an entire planet. Percival was eager to continue his studies and relayed anything he deemed of great importance directly to the Captain and Professor...
After extensive studies and many additional burns, Percival determined the most efficient way to combat the creatures, with few exceptions.
Note:
I struggle to write dialogue as my best interactions with people are spontaneous and not pre-planned, this is therefore my apology for the quality of all listed dialogue.
How do you intend to play your Synth? Percival's quirk is his fascination with new things, he loves to study anything new and learn as much as possible. A goal of his is to advance the knowledge of humanity by finding breakthroughs in whatever is relevant to his current assignment. (I intend to always attempt to learn about the Xenos as best I can and having a strong presence in the research department where possible.)
He's also very fond of more refined and advanced vocabulary and often uses it (not overboard) when communicating with officers and civilians however, in an attempt to emulate humans in times of difficulty and when talking with the average marine he'll revert to a more informal and direct method of speech to make it easier for the crew and to demonstrate his sympathy.
He'll mostly focus on surgery though is a master of engineering and can effectively operate any system on the ship.
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO) Extremely familiar as I'm almost exclusively support, my primary character, Charles Edwinson, is almost always Chief Engineer, I am well versed in engineering procedures and optimal SMES setup. Furthermore in his duties as CE Charles has had to run the operation and use Overwatch plenty of times.
My secondary character, Theodore Revallo, is my medical character and I am familiar with all surgeries. I am also a competent chemist but am not the fastest in the world, I also require the wiki for some of the more complicated chemicals.
My weakest area of shipside support is Requisitions, I can handle it fairly easily and know how it all works, but due to the time constraints of pre deployment I'm not as efficient as some others.
Why should we whitelist you? I am very dedicated to the server and find that often during the times I play support roles are lacking or require supplement, my general play-style (when possible (rarely)) is to play medical support with engineering abilities parallel, this is most evident when I play Executive Officer, if the ship is boarded or I deploy I generally take medical supplies and a tool pouch. I really enjoy role-play and I feel that playing as Synthetic will give me a lot of opportunities to increase the entertainment and RP of the round.
