Guys I cant stress enough that in the op I said this isnt a call to allow preds to commit total war against one faction. Its not an OOC enforment to kill 400 marines in the fob. If there are pred players that specifically run away from good players and only target new or unskilled players, then why the hell are they white list preds? The role is supposed to be super honorable hunts seeking out the toughest prey. Not run away from tough people and corner little timmy in the showers for a beatdown.

Because whitelist isn't about game knowledge or skill, it's about being able to write a story. Most COs are unmemorable cookie-cutter milsim type, most synths don't even have a gimmick and they're just support+, and most preds are just there to powertrip because they're given OP weapons and armors.

If whitelists were given based on the player's actual skill, 70% of pred and CO whitelist would get shaved off.

Preds already aim marines and xenos already ignore preds, so what's the deal?

And sure as hell there shouldn't be "rounds in a row" metamechanic "nudging" preds to fight one side. If anything, it should be related to current round, if benos do too good, or cadehugg, preds should be for example forbidden for a while to hunt marines and vice-versa.
No group of robustos play 3 straight rounds in a row.

The Yautja were never attended to be a balancing mechanic, nor should they be. Simply put, the Yautja are there to add flavour and RP elements to a round.

It doesnt matter if they werent intended to be a balance mechanic. As of current there is no good way to balance around good players. Preds represent the only tool I see who have the power to shear some of the higher skillcap players from a round in a way thats still fun to both parties. Theres like a handful of ways to mitigate player skill from effecting balance.

    1. Somehow teaching the rest of the server to not be terrible.

    This is totally unrealistic.

    2. punishing specific people who are much better then others

This is totally fucked and not at all what any of us want to see happen.

    3. Managing to balance across 500 levels of skill.

This has been proven to be virtually impossible to date. Good players always swing rounds, and draw out the nerfs.

    4. Utilizing the one asset we have that has the capability to create a fun challenge for skilled players, and stacking the odds agaisnt ther skill level.

    Preds are newgame+

Edit if the main issue is with the whole IC text telling them to prefer a side, thats fine its not really significant to what the drive is here. Having more often pred rounds helps the game balance, it doesnt even need to be pointed. As for the RP, im not pred expert ive only seen the first movie. I dont remember the predator stopping by to have a fun little chat with some dudes building baricades to hide behind at the fob. The hunt is the rp.
