    Spec rolls are in a good place right now.

    I managed to roll spec enough times to try them all and they are pretty great.

    SADAR:
    Deletes xenos.
    Great, always has been.

    Demo:
    Stunlocks xenos for teammates to delete.
    Great.
    The airburst nades offer fun variety and lower teamfrags. Nice.

    Sniper:
    Ability to cloak and the power shot are great improvements.
    Lots of fun to play.

    Scout:
    Major improvement with cloaking being much harder to see.
    Use to just be a normal marine with a better gun and a Jtac kit (before jtac kits were a thing).
    Now can genuinely get behind enemy lines and do fun stuff.

    Pyro:
    Use to be the worst spec.
    Now it's doing much better, bluefire seems a lot stronger, green is great for stopping xeno pushes.
    Firewalking is a much needed improvement.
    The weapon it's self is not intuitive though. I put a green fuel canister into the pyro backpack and I thought it bugged out and vanished because the pyro backpack inventory was empty afterwards. So I put the rest of the fuel in my pouches. I tried to attach the flame canister to the flamer (like SL's flamer). It popped off after firing the first shot and I died trying to pick it up and put it back in to fire again.

    Pyro spec really needs an instruction manual with the kit lol.

    Great improvements all around.

    Ehhh, I beg to differ on current SADAR and Pyro Spec.

    -No clue what land you live in but SADAR is straight up horrible now. The rocket damages were nerfed big time and rocket range has been removed! In order to hot any xeno yer required to get into CQC with the fuckers along with needing to be away from marines to avoid FF makes you can open target. With the damage nerfs and health buffs, the pay off isn't even worth it.



    -Before I needed to leave, xenos got a big ol' health buff with no tweaks to fire damage when Napalm X already did barely any damage to xenos in the first place. Before that buff, it took me TWO direct flames against a regular BOILER using Napalm X to get their health low, not crit, low. Another time I flamed a Boiler with just one direct hit, they stood on fire for a good 30+ seconds and still didn't die, they only died to a PB later.

    Pyro is basically useless against crushers since they have such a fucking large health pool, Napalm X wont do shit against them and even with PB's it takes ages. I was repeatedly flaming a Crusher with Napalm X and a few PBs, the fucker still didn't even come close to low health.

    Firewalk is meh, it's only 6ish seconds which can come in handy, it's just generally useless. If you wear the entire set of armor you can stand in Napalm X for a good long while, and if yer decent, you'd have a bottle of KDT which would basically give you an even longer firewalk.

    Napalm B is useless for stopping xeno pushes due to RUNNERS being able to survive for a minute of the shit. Only use I've found for it other than weeds is for corners, no other fire type can get around corners the way Napalm B can. But other than that the damage is pitiful and horrible.

    Old Pyro Spec was honestly way more powerful since Napalm X would just delete xenos, nowadays even marines can survive a direct hit of the stuff and remain out of crit. Few improvements have been made though for QoL, MH works for the flamer now which is nice, the new UBE is fucking amazing, and the new pack is nice and no longer a backpack.
    (Examine the pack to see fuel levels, examine flamer to see UBE levels, and to reload install a new tank in via pack)

    Pyro is alright but how you described it was rather off on how it actually is.


    Other Specs were alright.

    My take is from early December and unless there was a stealth change or the changelog ate several changes regarding these things, it'll be up to date.

    best way to describe the SADAR is as a T3 shotgun thats been nerfed into the ground. ie AT being literally a slug round that *might* effect t3s if they're hit

    For real, I remember when HE rocket splash damage was even remotely useful, and AP rockets could slap a bug if you hit em dead on. Now queens and ravs can run right through the rocket, and if it even hits them it sure as fuck doesn't stun.

    For some reason every comment I see (and gameplay I experience) it feels like literally everything and anything have been nerfed to nothing.

    AP rocket stun, HE rocket kill? Feels like a weak M40 nade if that.

    OB, CAS, Mortar? Went from something that was terrifying to xenos to meh, put a pylon, they can and will shoot under it anyway, even to caves at LZ - but meh, worst thing can happen it burns for a bit.

    PB buckshot, slug stun? - Defender can survive 4-5 PBs and walk away, slug stun is minimal, double MOU have CD now, no point using it.

    Basically anything that even remotely allow marines to punish xenos for overexteding have been nerfed for some reason. I really feel xenos are becoming impossible to kill. Not to mention their new gardener drone (which is actually really fun to play..).

    I wish there would be ways to kill xenos. I got to a point where I'm not even taking a gun just either some meta OT shit, which usually ends up in FF anyway or doing some weird shenanigans as I don't feel like emptying 15 mags on xenos that don't even feel it.

    I swear it was easier to kill an ancient T3 before these nerfs than a current xeno. At least that added game variety. It was the wrong decision to remove them. It took A LOT of effort and time to reach ancient and if you mess up, you lost it all. I wish it would come back.

    I agree with all of this outside of SADAR. I think it's pretty bizzare that you have to walk up and practically PB a xeno now cause the rocket has a range of 6 tiles. Other than that I do agree that spec is in a very good place right now and should try to stay here.
