despite the fact lv and big red are the same size.
somehow solaris ridge manage to feel a lot bigger.
idk maybe more playable space?

Its because Big Red has simple, but still maze-like buildings and roads that you have to navigate trough, by going around.
LV on the other hand is never used to its fullest. Either LZ, Hydro and then rush north to caves. Nobody, but IOs, runners, lurkers and predators bother with entire west side.
Also more than half of the map is caves and those are only fully explored when benos already lost.
