Eh I am 50/50 due to experience with you.

I don't think you will fuck up anymore than the current CO's.

I didn't like your attitude from previous things
but you gave an effort on the answers and on the replies so, that has to count for something and why I'm 50/50.

************After watching and playing with you a bit feel like you changed or maybe I caught you previously in a pissy mood. Going to leave it up there, but 100% try em out imo.

New CO's like to try new stuff, won't hold that against you either. Creativity is what helps keep this game alive.

I do think you should be very careful the first few months you play CO, to make sure you follow this path you are going down and don't fuck up something you can't get back.

Overall I'm quite happy with the app.

In certain areas you actually surprised me, as I was expecting to write a half hearted joke about PFC's being extremely unlikely to become officers in your story, but you covered that (dropped out, got educated, got a commission).

Your PARDON and BATTLEFIELD EXECUTION answers to me show that you know enough about the purpose of what they're for to use them responsibly and your answer to Albert Blackwell's questions show to me that you're not bad at interpreting marine law, either. You didn't drop the charge entirely, but kept in mind that while some of the charges may have been invalid, the appeal is for each individual crime to be judged.

Your pardon answer more or less word for word says what I usually tell people about pardons, they are an acknowledgement of guilt rather than an invalid charge and are supposed to carry weight and consequences behind them.

Day-to-day SOP/ML changes usually won't have too much of a problem and someone will likely tell you if you've done something glaringly wrong and I appreciate your willingness to look into anything you're not familiar with, because realistically no one is perfect at ML/SOP. We literally *CONSTANTLY catch each other out on things, and it's okay to look things up. I think your overall knowledge is sound and you seem fine at interpreting it.

Your command experience is fairly well spoken of and I've given you feedback before about a few rounds that I observed with you, you keep marines informed and are willing to improve your strategies and the way you work to accomplish higher goals. Just keep in mind that you are allowed to and are even expected to delegate tasks to your underlings rather than handling everything yourself, you've got a CIC, use em.

With that in mind, I usually ask questions and this app is no exception.

    1. A specialist gets arrested for changing the squad requisitions without permission. They are thus arrested for Major DTGP due to several windows being destroyed along with the vendor being hacked. The specialist resists arrest and manages to pin an MP to a table before another MP finally gets them. They ask you for a pardon, but they're obviously still quite angry.

    Would you pardon this specialist?

    2. You have pardoned a Cargo Tech for punching the Corporate Liason, only for that Cargo Tech to go and dismantle the Corporate Liason's office for no reason.

Would you pardon the Cargo Tech again? What would likely happen in this scenario?

    3. Your Staff Officer has been telling people to ignore you and to follow what they say instead and they're actively ignoring your calls. They tell the squads they're leading that you're a 3/10 commander and are giving contradictory orders to you.

    What would you do?

    4. A Staff Officer says to you that he's not happy with your command and will fax High Command to have you removed. What do you do?

    5. What does leadership mean to you?

    1) I would not. The specialist is important to the operation, sure, but there's no reason to. Pardons are, again, for people you actually trust (as much as you can trust an average marine) to not do crimes again, or to just generally not be a shitter. As well as their attitude, laying hands on an MP is assault, and if they're visibly angry about it, chances are they're the kind of person to commit assault again. Pass.

    2) I will not pardon the Cargo Tech again, primarily because I can't pardon the Cargo Tech again. Because we're now basically soul bound because I'm taking responsibility for their future crimes, I'm now in the pen for major DTGP with them. Chances are I'm not trusting this CT much in the future. Nonetheless, I should make sure the XO can helm while I blow my harmonica in the brig.

    3) This is actually a pretty time sensitive scenario; at best, I've ordered the Marines to hold and they've ordered the Marines to push, or vice versa. Worst case scenario, they've ordered a blatantly suicidal rush and the Marines might actually be going through with it. I'd try to start with asking what they're doing, ordering them to stand down and we can talk about why their order is better later. Maybe it actually is better, and they're just getting it across in a really bad way. If they absolutely won't listen and things are getting serious, I can order them arrested for Sedition. If they're ordering the suicide rush, that's when I reach for my revolver. They're going to get dozens of people killed, and they're directly undermining my authority for nothing.

    4) This SO is much easier to deal with. The SO in question pretty much just wants to inform HC that he feels my Commanding isn't up to snuff. I can talk things out with this guy. He isn't currently manipulating groundside forces or making threats on my authority, so I'll gladly take a few minutes to talk stuff out with him. Chances are that I've done something we can easily have a conversation about and I can explain myself. Plus, HC isn't going to do anything unless I've actually done something wrong.

    5) I'll answer this from the perspective of CM. Not like I'm actually leader of Team Dai-Gurren irl.
Everyone on the Almayer has something to bring to the table. PFCs are the bread/butter, Specialists really know how to bring the pain. Engineers build your base of operations for everyone else to use, Medics get everyone back on their feet and improve their morale somewhat. But Command is the thing tying everyone together. The role of the team's leader (the CO in this case or aCO) is to set a course of action. You have an excellent ship full of great potential and a worthy crew, but they aren't going to be sailing anywhere without someone to tell them where to go. Your role is to set the goal of the team, and drive them towards the objective using all of their skills combined. The CO takes in as much information as they can process, then passes their orders to the SL's. You trust them to carry your orders out, and they trust that your orders (most of the time) will lead them to victory. But the CO's will and the shots they call are not all-powerful, and you have to be someone that's charismatic. Mostly, you have to be someone that can put trust into other people, and have those other people extend some trust back. You must trust everyone unless they prove otherwise; from your XO, to a lowly PFC saying 'hey a lot of us are dying, we might want to start pulling back.' Nothing's going to work out for shipside if groundside has no reason to believe in them.

All good answers and you got the intent of the questions. I'd only add that you don't necessarily *have* to wait for a life or death situation with a BE, if you feel someone is genuinely undermining your command you'll usually be supported in that decision if it's found that they were undermining you. Sort of "play stupid games" situation.

Other than that, I think you'll be fine as a CO. You're eager to improve and tend to try and think things through rather than rushing to your death immediately, which is good.

    Best of luck! +1
