Whenever I get spec, I mostly take GL, Pyro, Sniper, Demo in that order. I aint a good demo with 200ms avg ping.
I was wondering how do you guys play scout these days in terms of loadout and gameplay.

Few Medals:
Spoiler:
since defcon was removed there's only really one way to play and thats by being a frontline skirmisher type that can move around and get into funny positions otherwise its really ehhhhhhh
Chaotic puppet-master from hell
So what you do, is you pick any other specialist, there's 5 options for a reason
I usually try to grab scout first.
The scout has a funny trick everyone falls for. It's called the M4RA Battle Rifle. Don't fall for the meme.
For loadout, I just leave the M4RA on the floor and give extra ammo to the SADAR/Sniper/Whoever else. Machete in suit slot, throwing knives on belt, Binos and Mines/C4 in the webbing and suit armor. 1 Box of marking flares, a medkit with splits, bandages for bleeding and injectors in the backpack + as many extra throwing knives as I can fit. You are going to want more kelo injectors then anything else because you take burn damage on every melee hit. Another variant of this build involves double shotguns but I prefer the machete version.
You play like an anti-predator.
You sneak around invis and look for the most 1 sided, dishonorable fight you can take and kill the xenos when they are at there weakest.
Melee/Throwing knives don't break stealth and most xenos just panic when they start getting hit by nothing while at low HP.
You can also body block them in 1x1 paths while marines are pushing, making them unable to escape from marines. No xeno expects to be bodyblocked by a scout while running away from marines.
Call CAS from great positions.
Clear weeds right underneath the xenos mid combat.
C4 tunnels/defenses.
Plant mines on retreat paths.
Save stupid solo marines from runners.
C4 the spawning pool/Hive core.
Drop a fatty on the queen.
Make drones lives a living hell.
It's a lot of fun.
Stealth and night vision are your abilities and you can do a lot with them.
The gun is just a funny joke.
I usually try to keep up the tradition of Axe welding scout trying to get melee kills (And dying most of the time). However scout is still good to do some back line harassing + getting info where hive is, and possible OBing it.
If you played enough xeno, you know scout is the WORST enemy of the 5 spec.
Yeah, they got stunlocker GL that WILL kill you while stunlocked if you eat the first nade and there is nothing you can do about it if he is skilled as he will shoot it behind you, making sure your body gets pushed towards marines, not away. Still, just avoid and try to play for FF.
Or get one shotted by a sadar, but that's really avoidable, we just shield up the queen or a crusher or if we don't have than the RAV, send it in to eat the rocket and we heal it up, not a big deal really. Most sadars are too impatient to wait for a good opportunity and extremely easy to bait them shooting a rocket. And yeah it will kill a T1, but they just avoid it and look for an other flank while he is there, not a big problem to be honest.
Pyro can be a pain in the *ss during hive pushes as he can clear weeds extremely fast. Other than that it's meh for a spec. Most of the time we are glad he is there as he will slow down the marine push and FF a lot.
Sniper does no damage. It can use flack or normal ammo, who cares. Xeno heal is just too good to take it seriously. Inci can be annoying but the damage is extremely low. Not sure if it got nerfed, but most of the time with a T2, T3 can't be bothered to put it out, just keep fighting and keep in mind that no queen heal is coming. But the damage is truly terrible. So much so that boilers will just keep shooting on fire for almost a minute before putting it out, which is the whole point of the inci ammo.
Now a good scout spec on the other hand....God damn that spec can get more kills than any other IF he has balls and skills. Sometimes I even see them in the front unclocked like WTF. Those people don't know how to play it.
But sometimes you get a scout from hell. They will wait in a corner for minutes patently as you can really only spot them when they are moving. If they are standing still on weeds, they are truly invisible especially if you don't expect them to be there as you didn't spotted it yet. They can wait there for minutes until the perfect time comes when an unga xeno eats a mag and fire retreats with 10% HP. Spec just walks in, wacks it 2x, by the time we hear the sound or realize where is he, xeno is already dead and most xenos can't do sh*t against it.
Again, there are ways to counter them with walls, doors and acid traps. But a truly skilled scout will be behind enemy lines more than half of the round and they will get away with almost anything. Worst thing is when you don't put acid traps near hive, they either destroy doors or walk in behind a xeno and wait until queen leaves ovi and they C4 the God damn pool, maybe kill a couple of larvas or toss a custom nade inside, maybe place a max-cap proxy C4 inside the hive so who ever goes back to check or a chest burster larva pops, it will trigger it.
Trust me a good scout is BRUTAL help for marines as if the hive is under attack, half of the xenos will fall back to check on it, removing them from the font.

Haven't played scout in a while, but my go-to usually is:
Go behind enemy lines and mow the lawn. Xenos trying to retreat from a massive push with no weeds = lots of easy kills. Also if a xeno is hurt and decides to take a nap near you it's gg.
my go-to scout spec is thus:
Standard gear, ditch the pistol, machete on belt slot
x2 scope, supressor, agrip, on the M4RA
grab as many M15s as I can, also put my points into one extra incen, and two impact mags, ditch the standard mags
This was also accompanied by an IO kit, but that was before techwebs, so I don't take it anymore
Get some more M15s from req, brown webbing'll hold those just fine, plus a few HIDPs from the squad req 'cause nobody takes those
Trick is to get behind xeno lines undetected, use machete only while cloaked, cut way in if I have to (have stood very very still on a few occasions as a queen was walking to the front, and they never notice)
Then, once hive found and can infiltrate it, toss an M15 directly on the hive structures (pool, core), don't have to C4 those as one M15 will destroy them with 0 problems, toss an HIDP on nests, or the pool to start with, and then make escape
Unfortunately, this big ol' stick in the xeno's plans is rebuilt within 15 seconds, but hey, did some good
after that, is retreat, or try and go HAM with impact rounds on cheeky xenos. load incend, get that single round loaded, then put in impact mag for followup stuns on on-fire beno
And that's how I learned to have fun with scout.
Spam lazes because it literally only takes 2 seconds.
Find isolated bodies where I can and bring them home.
Spam my rifle into xenos to annoy the shit out of them from a screen away.
