    even though SD had bad design it literally could've still been kept alongside lifeboat.

    SD is cooler. Just make the "life boat pumps" into the nuclear rods. Easy.

    Also, I think, we already had "lifeboats" - different ships could doc south or north of Almayer. I don't know why devs decided to add more lifeboats?

    Have old mapper team just left entirely? So we are redoing all things which already have been done or tried...
    Life boats are a throwback to the Sulaco. SD was a new feature with the Almayer when it was added and it’s been around for about 4 years now, I think it’s pretty cool trying something new for a bit. If it doesn’t work out I’m sure someone will take the time to either readd SD or come up with a better option

    we could've kept SD and lifeboat but moved lifeboat elsewhere.

    You mean like put the life boats where the engi shuttle dock is? That might work for the future.

    Personally, I think SD or Evacuation should happen depending on what the Command staff (as well as admins) think. Is there no hope for survival? Then we make a last stand and hope we can get the hell outta here.

    We got the personnel/Morale to put up a fight? then lets arm the self destruct sequence and go all out, if we lose, we die, but we can sure as hell take them with us.

    Literally the only excusable version of cade hugging because it had a time limit and an objective. It wasn't prolonging the round, it was always set to end it.

    And yeah, 4 hour rounds were fun back when marines mattered.

    I would like an explanation detailing how lifeboats are a beneficial change.

    I've been present in discussion where a development member made it clear that it's only bad when Marines cade up and that once they lose the ground, they don't deserve a chance to recover the round. So I would genuinely like to know how this is going to be a beneficial change and for whom is it ACTUALLY benefitting?
