Basically after so many years of changes metarush rules just don't work anymore. Aliens right now start at their strongest right from drop and when crashing, somewhat. Realistically they typically cant just head-on fight the marines and just expect to win and you get the back and forth. The dilemma though is that when aliens fall apart and die any attempts to help them is mediocre, don't exist, or just pointless. By the point aliens are falling to the metarush they are usually down by half a hive and on the way out. This been an issue for... 3+ years even with maturation and all, it was able to be semi-dealt with with strong counter spawns, abombs, or just straight bans but yea.
This doesn't even include survivor rushes were they rush or get to close to the hive. Sure they were 'getting ammo from Eta' not just trying to hope they can bullshit an excuse to break open Eta and give the marines an excuse to rush it. Sure there was good reason to just sit on research and try to block the aliens from getting the monkies on prison station. Can keep going but typically bad map design which don't well define alien vs survivor regions like with CORSAT, might be one of the best maps imo, with Theta-Gamma-Omega being alien land, or LV with beach and cave being Alien land, or prison being anything pass research being alien land. On Big Red you had the area be defined as typically the caves but they had 'justification' to rush the labs for ammo which lead to problems. Soro was a resource paradise that had stuff everywhere and it was not unknown for survivors to stumble into aliens if they pushed east, refinery seems to be like this along with science annex.
Maps need better design for survivor-alien areas.
The main issue for metarushes though is this, when marines just 'rushed' they get typically large reinforcements and heavy help. It not even an aliens sitting on LZ rush, it not aliens all just flanking around, it literally is the marine force utterly collapsed after bumrushing the aliens and just collapsed. What makes a lot of the rushes happen though isnt even all that. It the bloody maps.
Science is too open to defend currently and badly needs to be looked at, marines are getting counter rushed and are unable to defend for some reason. Might be too many path ways, the LZs are too open in general, might be too small a map, might be marines are monkeys that only know how to rush and pray for stims at tier 3(this part is 99% true), might be the railgun has pushed all fire support around so much marines are lost in the wood, might be so much stuff.
The reason it matters stuff like this is how hard the admins will counter natural collapses of the marines, the maps are utter crap and aliens have the option to retreat with all of their forces or? It not even like aliens can even weed it! It like marines can't bring medics or use drugs while in the caves or even build any cades yet the marines collapse because the map does not allow for marines to bounce back at all.
Metarush rules should only apply if aliens are literally sitting on the LZ or near it, metacomming hive location, survivors rushing into 'alien areas' were no sane man would go such as beach-caves on LV and if alien areas are not defined just don't rush hive or harass it.
