Incorrect. Predators are antagonists. The whole reason they're on the map is to hunt you like you're a deer. You're little more than an opportunity to show off their skill and experience to them.

They can kill you if the code allows it. Predators WILL lure you into attacking them first, because that makes you a 100% valid, worthy target in any case. It's literally part of their strategy. It's why you always hear people say "don't let them get to you" and to "stay calm".

Role play-wise there isn't a common ground. Some predators will mark you as a warrior if they see you killing a lot of xeno or winning an honor duel, but not all of them will know of or respect that enough to care.
Tell that to predator, who run at me (SADAR spec and temp SL) and stab me two times and broke my bones before I could react. I was 10 feet from frontline and was pushing clearing walls and weeds. Didn't fire a single bullet. Admins said I was hunt target for some reason.

    SADAR and SL totally worthy...

Despie, ignore and disrespect best solution for preds. Never RP with them.

Unhuntables - Humans or Xenos, that by circumstance or duty, are unable to be hunted however if they attack you, they lose their unhuntable status.
Non-direct combatants. Drone-evolutions, boilers, all Almayer crew (Non-military), Synthetics, etc unless they are actively engaging you.
Humans or Xenos defending key locations, such as the Hive or a FOB.
Humans or Xenos that are actively fighting on the frontline. Coming back to heal does not disqualify this.
Any Human or Xeno stunned from LPC or HPC. Unless they are dishonorable.
Humans or Xenos that show any amount of damage on the health hud, or show an injury via examination (splints are the only exception to this).
Humans who have proven themself in an honor duel and was gifted a Yautja trophy

Staff are human and make mistakes, and some people just straight up lie to them. Best thing to do is to make whitelist reports so someone has to log dive to prove what actually happened. Unless you've stolen an artifact, a predator shouldn't be engaging you anywhere near the front lines or anywhere a fight is already going on. Marking you for hunt doesn't remove that rule.

Just do a me verb of you pissing yourself and crying if you don't want to engage a predator. Can't claim a dude's a worthy opponent if he's soiling his uniform and shoving uncontrollably in front of you. Checkmate predators.

I recall my immediate first contact. Picture me, a young and fresh faced Private. In the jungles of LV my squad of brotherly blue boiz we came across a wild man in a tribal mask, tongue a click clacking.

My first instinct is to RP. My blue friends said "NAW!" Which resulted in a complete gibbing of my first Predator contact. Followed closely by them admonishing me for the attempts to RP.

Predator and Marine interactions only work if both sides are willing. Otherwise the situation devolves into TDM.

RP isn't just words and /me but the actions your character are doing as well

when you see a predator, if you're not actively going "what the fuck are you identify yourself" then you'd probably start shooting (or getting the fuck outta dodge) because these guys are visibly not human. noticeably different skull shapes, unnatural skin coloration, heights of eight feet minimum, gigantic body sizes, fingernails that are more like claws than nails and human skulls adorning their armor and belt

unless you're playing some exceptionally curious and morally devoid character who doesnt care that this guy is clearly a butcherer of humans, you'd probably not want to talk to those freaks

its important to remember that and try to have fun with it just as much as you'd have fun shooting the shit with buddies or bullying MPs over comms then getting tazed for insubordination - and i'm saying this as a whitelisted predator and synthetic who enjoys RP just as much as i enjoy fragging

Preds are too OP and that's why people don't want to mess with them at a cost of RP quality.

"Oh no, Steve is getting bullied by jamaicans. I'm not gonna help him cause the jamaican will totally kill me too tho."

Seriously, pred armor have more bullet armor than MARSOC, you literally should not bother unless you have AP or buck PBs solely because the latter has adequate damage output and the former is only of note if the user can hit them.
Like what the fuck, I doubt M41s have a good or ANY record of killing preds due to how fast they move+how little damage you even do if you DO hit.

Then there's dissonance with how individuals react to a half-naked 8 feet tall weirdo with skull hanging on their belt and such.
Anything other than "Ok, this guy looks like a jackass that killed people." would be a daft observation.
On top of that, it's been repeatedly said that preds are antagonists, except most people that aren't good enough to deal with them just ignore them due to the aforementioned OPness.
