    Description of the incident
Gonna make this a short one. I was a Queen doing stuff, marines dropped at around 12:20 as per usual at LZ2 predicting that they'll head to the southern part of the yard however at approximately 12:23 they were south of the hive. Admittedly there were a serious lack of defences, but this isn't exactly relevant. They entered the hive and we slaughtering them, then pushing them back to the LZ marines evacced at 12:29.

Realised that this is going to be a short round, and rather delay the entire round I hijack the Normandy at 12:33. Now, just beforehand QM had sent a message asking if we wanted a challenge 2-3 xenos said yes in a hive of 33, while I was extremely reluctant to say yes or no knowing it'll delay the round. I showed my reluctance and neither said yes or no to the question but instead opting to nudge on by saying "Well we're hijacking now mum" thinking that QM would get the hint that the choice is too late blah blah.

We crash, everything seems normal until I get to the upper deck. A huge swarm of PMCs flood me and my T3 escort and I die quickly. There was a ridiculous amount of PMCs and my first thought it "what the hell?" and I check the ERT list and see a TON of PMCs (it was one platoon). This had virtually respawned every single marine that had died planetside AND given them AP Ammo, specs, SGs with terminator smartguns. Simply put, this was not fair. Xenos had fairly won planetside due to marine ERROR. There was no """""""""""metarushing""""""""""" involved and it was a round playing itself out.

To add, the hive was next to the crashed ship at a pre-spawn location.

In a dramatic twist the admin had apparently made a mistake in clicking a platoon over a squad, simply put I don't believe this because of the QM message stating a challenge. A PMC squad is not a challenge, a platoon is.

Hello! Admin who ran the event here, I'll try to keep my reply short as I describe what happened from my point of view.

Realised that this is going to be a short round, and rather delay the entire round I hijack the Normandy at 12:33 - like you said yourself, marines had got themselves wiped pretty early on. There were a couple of ahelps saying that xenos had metarushed the LZ however observing the round that was not the case, there was even an ahelp from a xeno saying that the round was starting to end quickly thanks to the marines early defeat. It was however a very quick round for both sides considering the marines did not land until approximately 12:20 and a short round is no fun for anybody.

2-3 xenos said yes in a hive of 33 - Once the marines had evacuated I made a QM announcement asking the hive whether they wanted a challenge for hijack after the groundside battle had ended almost immediately. I could not tell you the exact amount of xenos who said yes however it was a larger number then what you are saying here.

A huge swarm of PMCs flood me and my T3 escort and I die quickly - Before hijack I sent a distress beacon which was intended to be a PMC squad. Everything seemed fine with some PMCs arriving in CiC and a small amount of hostilities (the reason for PMCs arriving was that W-Y had tried to buy the captains office thanks to some RP with the CL and wanted to protect their investment so the captain was openly hostile against them). At this point I noticed that some T3s had started to die on the upper decks, at first I thought it was because of a lack of weeds however I quickly realised what had happened.

the admin had apparently made a mistake in clicking a platoon over a squad, simply put I don't believe this because of the QM message stating a challenge. - yes I sent in a PMC platoon instead of a squad (which I take full accountability for) and yes it was an accident. If I had realised before the PMCs arrived on the Almayer I would have done something to reduce their numbers however by the time I did it was too late. The statement that this had virtually respawned every single marine that had died planetside is not true as I believe a PMC platoon is around 25 people and we were on high pop. Why you think I would go out of my way to purposely punish the xenos for winning the groundside battle is beyond me. Your reasoning for this in the report is that A PMC squad is not a challenge, a platoon is. which I would heavily disagree with. PMCs are designed to be more technologically advanced then marines to the point that a small squad can make a big difference in a battle.

By this point there were around 12-10 xenos left with some marines beginning to arrive at the dropship hive. At the same time this was happening the CL sent a message to W-Y asking them to buy the Almayer so they can become captain. Seeing this as a chance to continue the RP the CL had throughout the round and also take the burden of the xenos I agreed and make an announcement that because of the extensive damage to the Almayer (and the xeno infestation) the CL has been able to buy it for $500. The CL went to CiC to take his place as captain and as expected the Almayers captain attempted to BE the CL and was quickly gunned down by PMCs. Seeing that there were now a large group of PMCs who were hostile to the marines and outnumbered them a fellow staff member suggested sending in a MARSOC ERT to kill the PMCs and leave. While the ERT was called I was preparing an ARES message however the marines had managed to kill the PMCs and MARSOC were already on their way. Not wanting to intervene with the round any further no more ERTs were called and I had to go for food, leaving another staff member to oversee what was happening (although by this point the event was pretty much over).

You say that the staff protocol I broke was abusing my power however there was no ill intent behind any of my actions. An attempt was made to give marines a chance during hijack so the round was more fun for both sides which ended badly for xenos. Instead of just deleting the PMCs I tried to resolve the issue IC by allowing the two human sides to fight each other. Your claim that I had sent in a PMC platoon on purpose (presumably to stop xenos from winning) is false. I would like to apologise if what happened ruined your round but this was not an attempt to abuse my powers by punishing one side for winning.

Before I wrote this report I checked the logs, it was around four xenos. Logs can prove this.

Could you clarify this further, the PMCs were for a different event..? And if so, could you not have seen the situation groundside or even the hijack threat and postponed it? And when did you actually notice it was a platoon?

25 PMCs is still a lot of PMCs and my point still stands the vast majority of marines who died planetside were respawned as something with better weapons, equipment and skills

Let me explain why a squad is not a challenge but a platoon is. Numbers and tech. That's really it, a platoon is like having a extra highpop marine squad dumped on you with more SGs, specs and overall firepower whereas a squad is the equivalent of a well-equipped hive-diving squad, they hurt but can be dealt with.

As to the part where I suggest this is on purpose, this was mainly influenced from the lack of """"""intervention"""""" as much as I hate the term, yes the PMCs went hostile but it was considerably too late to make a difference, but yes there is a argument that the round already had a ton of intervention. Even on my part the malicious suggestion is a bit ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, however I'll like to see proper logs first.

You say that the staff protocol I broke was abusing my power however there was no ill intent behind any of my actions. The Code on Conduct doesn't mention if its malicious abuse of power, or not ((((((((although its slightly hinted))))))). I personally think that this was more to do with poor judgement, than actual malicious intent. Hosting a ""minor"" event ((buying the almayer)) while groundside is hammered and lost, with hijack imminent was very poor foresight and honestly you should've thought it through. Due to you mentioning the challenge it was more than safe to assume that the PMC platoon was for us instead of the marines, which again is poor communication even though it was a mistake. While I apologise for acting as if it is malicious, the actions taken by staff at that time seemed very malicious at that time. I'd still like logs and stuff, along with witnesses.

I was the CL in question. The PMCs were the result of a feud between me and CIC which began when I threatened to sue them for gross negligence endangering company employees after they hung up a CIC call from survivors and ignored it. Long story short, CIC's pay was docked, someone then left organs in my office, I faxed WY that this was a threat and demanded to buy the CO's office and be moved there as compensation. WY agreed and bought the office from USCM as compensation for my distress, but the Captain refused to let me in and threatened to shoot me if I tried. I faxed about this to WY, who backed me up and agreed to send PMCs to enforce their claim over the office.

I then bought the USS Almayer from the USCM for $500 due to property devaluation caused by the xeno damage (but this was after hijack). The captain refused to recognise the sale and attempted to BE me, the end result being a massive civil war as PMCs, loyalist marines, MARSOC, and mutineers all massacred one another, with myself and the CO gibbed, and MARSOC standing victorious in the end. The remaining forces then turned their attention to the last xenos, and the round ended in a xeno minor.

Taking this into account, I think this makes it clearer that the PMCs were not meant to be some out of the blue reward given to marines for losing the round so fast.

Yes sorry if I didn’t make this clear in my first response but the PMCs were sent to 1. Continue the roleplay with the CL but more importantly 2. To help make the round more enjoyable for both sides. I went along with the CLs roleplay to give a reason why a PMCs would be arriving on the Almayer instead of just “have a fighting chance on hijack”. One of the responsibilities of admins is to make minor changes to the round so it is more enjoyable for all players which is why I chose to send some PMCs in. Both sides hadn’t had much of a chance to actually fight which isn’t fun for anyone.

At this point it’s best to wait for the logs instead of posting a continuous series of replies however like I said in my first response the amount of PMCs sent were a mistake and I’m sure the logs will show there was no malicious intent behind what happened.

Ok so from what I am seeing, ben made a mistake and tried to amend it later by making PMCs turn on marines. There was no malicious intent here, all I can really say is for ben to be more careful with what he presses but based on this, I don't think this will be an issue again.

Resolved - ben told to be more careful
