Basic Questions & StoryWhat do you think is the job of a Commander? First of all i want to warn anyone who will read this application. I'm NOT English native speaker and some parts of this application was translated with Google help.
So, it can contain some grammar or lexical mistakes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So lets start:
CO is the person that has a higher position in Almayer's chain of command, so that means he is responsible for operation progress and also for anything that happens on the shipside during operation. It means that he is personally responsible for that things.
CO is the face of the USCM forces and an example to follow for marines, so his manners and actions should be at a high standard.
CO sets the course for the entire marines round gameplay. One of CO’s important activities is to create some unique gameplay experience by involving marines in some interesting battle strategies or trying to create some memorable moments since he has the widest possibilities to do that.
Why do you want to be a Commanding Officer? Because i want to try this role. I like challenge in games and CM COing giving a many various situations that will challenge you.
Provide a short story of your Commanding Officer. I will try to write dossier for my character.

(P.S. i’m just trying to RP my jobban i’m understand that CO cannot behave as written in my jobban appeal. I learned my lesson and changed my mind about how to play CM at all. Also that’s why I want to try CO).

ExperienceHow familiar are you with command positions? I think i'm competent SO, since i know about all activities of this role and activities of other departments so i can deputize if needed (req, field medic, etc). As OW i'm always trying to give my squad the most important and fresh information about OP progress and the situation around them. I'm always trying callout that some marine is wounded and recoverable during battle and trying to encourage people to save him. I’m think the most important objective of OW it’s to help marines communicate between themselves and be like a communication relay CIC <- ->Your Squad (which also applies to XO, but it is a little more difficult there since you have to serve 4 squads)
I'm good enough in XOing. Sometimes i manning CIC alone as XO and OP going quite successful (even on midpop). Like i’m reloading OB by myself. Manning the req line if req department is empty and etc. I’m not going to say that I'm always trying to do all things by myself, but I can maintain some side activities even if I'm alone in CIC.
And i played enough time on the Head of all departments, to know possibly all game mechanics in CM (but i'm not sure is it really "all" )

But it's not all because i played in 2020 before timelocks were merged to prod.
How familiar are you with Department Head positions? Good enough to understand the work of each department and deputize any position that is not filled with active players. After the timelock was introduced i’m not playing on head of departments positions a lot, nowadays I just checked it for any new features. I played it mostly in 2020. After all my CM experience I just like playing command roles (XO mostly).
Medbay:
I played as CMO/doctor in 2020 many times, so i'm know how to do medicine and surgery, chems, etc.
I played researcher nowadays to actualize my knowledge about new features and it seems I got acquainted with all the innovations (except making corrupted hive, some moderator said that this feature is broken for real. I still don't get it. Is it works or not?)
Requisitions:
I didn't play that much, but enough to understand the department game mechanics and its purpose and importance. I can be a competent RO or CT. I played it mostly in 2020, when there was a wave of new players and sometimes i was really angry about not operable req or incompetent personnel in it, so i was trying to change this. Nowadays req works fine and I have no such desire, since req gameplay is kinda boring for me.
Engineering:
I'm not a big fun of builder gameplay (except droning ), but i know how to build general constructions, fix APC and other main things in engineering (and I always can use wiki to refresh my knowledge). Also, just in comparison to SS13 I’d like to say that engineering in CM is kinda low on game mechanics. Which causes that more often CE’s are trying to play their gimmicks or just deploying to help FOB instead of ruling their department and trying to service the ship.
Military police:
This is the department where I spent the least time. And that’s why:
Police concept in SS13 literally forces players to become a repressor. Since most players don't want or just cant to HRP or even MRP, they always doing dumb shit and the police is forced to react on it. Over a long period of time, this leads to the fact that a player who often plays MP just gets tired of the dumb behavior of the players and ceases to be a "liberal". Which results in perma brig for breaking window or such things. I've seen it many times and I don't want to be part of this show.
In fairness, I must say that on CM the situation is different because the local moder or admin staff is overwatching any controversial situations and also CM rules provide an appeal option for a prisoner (which is not so useful in my opinion, but this opportunity exists anyway and this is good practice from my point of view).
The above does not mean that I don’t know the marine law, because I rarely played MP roles. I know it in general terms, not word by word, but good enough to make a decision in a current situation.
In general, I would say that I can be a quite good CMP or MP, but I have no such desire.
Maybe because I served in the military in real life and I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT MP IS ABOUT.
How familiar are you with Marine Law and Standard Operating Procedure? I know ML well enough. Dunno what i can say more there. Better ask me some tricky questions
I know SOP well enough. Same thing as for ML case.
ScenariosWhen do you believe a Battlefield Execution should be used? I think it should be used when you directly see a some player griefing or doing some things that vitally affects round gameplay or players gameplay and you have no opportunity to RP it via game mechanics.
Examples for BE:
- Marine thrown M15 into the req window and started shooting people around
- SO trying to kill XO in the name of Satan and chasing him with a knife
And the other things such like that.
Also i'm think SOMETIMES, it always depends on situation, but BE can be used to some newbie that did a great stupid shit that results in some significant problems to OP progress or some players gameplay. In my intention, this punishment will lead a newbie player to read the guidelines and some wiki at all (if he has not done this before start playing) and play more smart next time. At least that's how it turned out for me, when I was a rookie. Long time ago I played drone on Solaris Ridge. I melted ETA podlocks without permission and I was banished for that with the accompaniment of the chat like "RAT! BANISH THE RAT!", because I didn’t admit that I did it (in fact I just didn't realize that I melted the ETA podlocks because I just don't know what they are and why they were important for real). Fun thing that xenos won that round because they flanked marines through melted ETA podlocks and at the end of the round they blessed and glorified the rat like “LET’S KILL TALLS IN THE NAME OF THE RAT!” pretty epic
Fun thing that is on the next day, I saw a burrower with nickname RAT and he played CM with that nickname for a long time, serving as a reminder for me Dunno for real is his nickname related to my case. Will be fun if this burrower is still here and he can clarify it.
Under what circumstances do you believe it is legal to pardon a prisoner? I think pardon is legal when a prisoner wants to atone for his guilt AND if his crime was not caused by griefer motives AND it was a crime that's not affects any players gameplay or round gameplay at all.
All the circumstances must be clarified during the investigation.
