    everybody around you is a meatbag, a target for xenos to shoot first and you to shoot back at the expense of the meat bag getting slashed or stunned to death. even the "robustos" consider each other meatbags for either them or the other to get stunlocked/attacked first. don't ever put any trust into any random PFC because they WILL shoot you when you get stunned/lunged, and they WILL NOT attempt to gather your body. you are alone, this game is horrible, kill or be killed, etc.

    Ok. Understand your enemy. Get a good grip on xeno castes, movesets, and movement speed. Learn the danger zones for things like a lunge or pounce and do your best to avoid entering them(you will anyways we all do often).

    Understand the weapons your using, the range and the fall off damage. Understand that as a ranged type with low health and armor your strongest position is to keep and maintain distance while still applying damage.

    Learn laning. When youre in a group of marines learn how to use firing lanes on xenos like runners to attempt to box them in without getting in the way of your teamates firing lines, or shooting your teamates.

    Learn how to trap. When youre retreating from your effective combat distance by fireing on the backfoot, understand when to begin lateral movement to come first sideways and then back torwards then enemy to cut off the escape of a damaged xeno.

    Learn combat looping. If youre being targeted by a large group of xenos they will have different movement speeds. Spread the deathball out and then begin to loop back to target the xenos closest to you. If you engage xenos close together surrounding you, you will always die. Spread them out.

    Learn when and how to create an effective push. In caves or in massive choke holds youre liable to just get grabbed and hugged. However in an open area you can aggressively push and fire to cause damage while continueing to rapidly move forwards. This will draw the attention of the defending xenos and cause a significant amount to shear off and give chase. Creating an opening like this will allow your teamates to rush in rapidly behind you without fear of death(which most of them will require to push)

    Make your kit multi purpose and high effect. Pairing an m37 with buck and an m41 with ap will give you the tools to kill anything in the game by yourself. Practice the swapping of weapons for the required situation so you can do it without making mistakes. Always take the minimed kit. Use auto draw so you can rapidly swap magazines so the halts between your effective damage application are very small, always eject mags to the floor on empty. Keep the injector tab open in combat so you can quickly use the E auto injector while running away.

    These are some fairly simple straight forward concepts you can use to begin working on getting better. As you use them more often youll find flaws when engaging certain stuff, or just straight up better methods of accomplishing the same task.

    Position yourself to win, range paired with the high damage of rifles makes you incredibly powerful.

    This sounds like the opposite of a successful marine team
    Before I could fight effectively I would only destroy resin, throw flares, and drag dead marines to safety

    its because some of the most robust marines also bait you hard. They know that the dirty job of destroying weeds and fighting on them lands them the least amount of kills and is the highest risk.
