    good hive compositions?

    say you got 20 sisters
    how should you distribute them?

I'd like to know what guys think compositions should be for 10, 20, and 30 size hives
or just a meme/themed composition you think is cool

Honestly you just need at least one boiler and one good burrower who knows what they're doing. Everything else is personal preference. I pretty much only play the defender line of castes so if you put me on hivelord I probably wouldnt do a good job. Also sometimes you can get carried by just T2s. The other day like 4 of the t3s died on shivas in the first marine push and we managed to win by making a bunch of really good warrior plays.

you always need a boiler because [the absolute state of current cm cade balance rant insert here] and how it lets you utilise your cave choke hell

naturally you also need drones and probably a hivelord

the rest are either useless/unimportant or generic combat castes

    Maxwell, the synth

You need ravangers to do damage and ignore the constant fire spam. And tank, and win... pretty much all things.

You need crushers to hold t3 spots until more ravangers are ready to spawn when they are inevitably killed.

You need a Prae to go warden, and then one oppressor/dancer/etc so they can argue about how viable they are compared to ravangers, especially in deadchat 5 minutes after fog falls.

The rest of the hive doesnt matter, they are afk waiting for evo anyways.

Finally you need a queen who is good at combat, because marines will be in the caves 5minutes after drop, and ovi is worthless aside from evo points.

    Edit almost forgot about carrier!

You need a carrier to frustrate and sadden new players with the hugger "AI" and convince them to return back to marines

    Alright, let's go:

    starting from 10 xenos:
    1 queen
    1 hivelord
    1 burrower
    2 lurkers
    1-2 warrior
    1 spitter
    1 boiler
    1 prae and/or ravager

This gives you a good all-round caste and battle-line coverage given a weak / under-staffed hive.

    20 xenos:
    1 queen
    1 hivelord
    1 burrower
    1 carrier
    0-1 drone
    2-3 lurkers
    1-2 runners
    3-4 warriors
    1 defender
    1-2 spitters
    1 sentinel
    1 boiler
    1-2 praes
    2 ravagers

This is IMO the best composition.

You have all the beautiful FREE T2 Drone-line castes doing support with a drone perhaps
You have PLENTY of front-line and anti-push with the T3's and warriors, along with harassment from spitter(s)
You have PLENTY of back-line destruction with 3 lurkers and 1-2 runners to destroy their logistics/medical supply lines and catch lone marines.
Is an Ambidexterous marine and xeno main.
