I actually kind of agree with this, mainly because for actual emergent medical treatment IV is a lot better than giving it orally. The way it could work is that Medic belts could be filled with 240u medicine reserviors, and Medics could have a smart-syringe that can be predialled to a dose and instantly withdraw from reserviors in your belt + instant injection of the entire dose into patients.
If this is implemented then pill bottles could lose their silly ID lock (another win for a small taste of realism!) and have a longer delay between popping the pill and chems in your blood (which I believe it already does to a small degree). If we want to go further you could even add a gut organ in the groin that if damaged hampers oral absorption.
