If you honestly can't see how this case is very likely to be metacomms, and / or you don't realize that metacomms take place in this game likely quite often, then I'm sorry for you... at least I should be. Yes, I am bringing up the fact that some people in this community are trash enough so that getting kills in this game through metacomming makes their sad day less sad, and I am doing this with the better examples that I encounter. Note, I said 'better', as I only make reports for the much more obvious cases than I usually encounter. Although, after my absence, I don't encounter nearly as much of it, which would have an obvious explanation (hint: metatargeting and the ways that herd mind works).

Sure, my reports don't include hard evidence, as obviously, there is now way to get them. Nonetheless, perhaps this will nudge some people in the management to take some action against it, in a form of changes of mechanics and rules (I have one suggestion how this could be done).

Just my two cents to be honest.
Dont report people metacomming. You TELL admins/mods of potential metacomming via ahelp or DMs.

If you report them into the forums THEY will stop metacomming and it wont be proven because they will just stop for some time.

Its just my advice. Please dont delete this and i hope the staff team understands what i mean. People should be telling this into ahelps or DMs instead of forum reporting.

You have a point, but my experience so far has been them saying that I should just make a report. I might try this more though, asking specifically to observe the player(s) in question.

Makes sense, given the logs provided by Warfan. As well, iirc, the ghost that I saw flying to bar from that location moments after was a pajama ghost.

I wasn't even aware of this thread until I checked the forums on a whim. This is an absolutely insane accusation over something as simple as a guy asking for help checking out MD pings and killing a player who I used to respect. So lets break your accusation down:
"Just when I was opening these boxes, two rushed straight from the bottom of the screen to this room, as if they knew exactly where I was. They were lined up with the doors tiles - each going for different door."

This random guy literally said to me "there's pings in the bar", so instead of letting him check ALONE, I go with him. I followed HIM north and we checked the first room we saw (FROM THE BAR), and lo and behold you were there and you got flushed down the toilet. Also what even is this about lining up on the doors? Is checking rooms with unpowered doors metagaming or something?

I cloaked immediately, and positioned for a pounce out of the room. The marine just before me stepped aside and stopped very briefly, while the other one didn't even stop iirc. They were very organized. Right after, they went straight back to the bar, without wandering.
I assume the marine that paused was me (since this was nearly half a month ago). I didn't want to shoot the dude I was helping with a face full of buckshot so I ALWAYS do an extremely brief right click on cloaked people to check that they aren't a scout or predator.
I tell this guy we should go back because I personally don't like being far from the main marine murderball + a ship doctor asked me to help escort them so I was trying to find them since I lost him. I was also afraid of the inevitable backup that xenos have when you face them off while you are relatively isolated. What even about this is suspicious?


How in the world does this justify a permanent ban for THREE people? Someone getting MD pings from the dorms and bar = someone ghosting and knowing your location? I also know for a fact that dorms and laundry area is always packed with runners/ lurkers/ warriors/ burrowers ready to flank and cap marines at the start of the op (its basic game sense & I literally do this when I play xeno myself) Am I just supposed to dumb myself down and forget that?? Never in my life would I think I'd have someone trying to get me permanently banned with such shoddy evidence over something such a basic staple of marine gameplay (NEVER GO ALONE).

Let me also add this: WHY ARE YOU CHANGING YOUR STORY? At first I was allegedly meta gaming you and my "meta buddy" said "get fucked" while observing you. Now its an entirely separate unknown observer that wore pajamas and flew away before you could get a name (despite observers being bald and wearing marine undies) What is even going on here?

Unfortunately due to insufficient evidence we're unable to do anything about this allegation at this time. In future, if you suspect someone is metacommunicating, please ahelp and ask staff to investigate as it is significantly easier to resolve at the time than with a retroactive investigation based on logs.
