I can, on some level, defend not having bans be public.

But to not even tell the person you're banning why they're being banned? That's bullshit, plain and simple, and the mod team's combative defense of this is just as bullshit.

Absolutely pathetic the handling of this situation by staff, from aggressive messages (outside of the fact that the banned player isn't even informed what they did wrong), to outright going on a ban tirade for older messages without regard of the hypocrisy they're committing, this is all just malicious as hell.
