Commander whitelisting is reserved for those who are deemed "Competent" by the community and staff of Colonial Marines.
Whitelisted Commanders are expected to act in accordance to our server rules, role-play guidelines and maintain command competency for the Marines side.

This position is a ROLE-PLAY POSITION.
Meaning you are also expected to follow proper role-play guidelines, maintaining proper spelling and commander like behavior.
Commander will still remain a RP Position, which means their objective isn't to "Power-game" their way to victory by ordering marines to attack the main Hive within 5 minutes of landing.


Ideally, the Commander will now be someone you know you can talk to, role-play with and someone who you can at least rely on to be on the bridge communicating with the marines.
Depending on the whitelisted players character, you could end up with various degrees on how they handle each mission. You could see very aggressive Commanders, dubious Commanders, mischievous Commanders and coward like Commander.. of these would be acceptable personalities of a playable Commander. The over-all goal as stated earlier isn't to power-win, but to be dependable and command the marines throughout the round!


Purpose of this whitelist is to put competent players in control of a vital position on CM.
We've often had complaints that Joe Baldie has no idea what he's doing and shouldn't be in charge of Marines. He never gives orders, interacts with the crew and goes SSD within 10 minutes.
This whitelist is designed and implemented with the desire to push more competent, capable players in positions of importance and boost the marines morale knowing that when a Commander is on that they're in good hands. It also gives the players something more to work towards and obtain a status among their fellow players.

Ideally, we are aiming for maximum competence from Commanders.
Definition of Competence being, the ability to do something successfully or efficiently.



Important Notice:
The Commander WILL receive a special buff to resistance and minor cosmetic items.

WHITELIST REQUIREMENTS
- Relatively CLEAN Ban History / Note History
- NO Command Job-bans (Bridge Officer/XO/CO/Chief Engineer/CMO/Requisitions Officer/MP/Liaison)
- Forum Account is 7 days old

Should you be denied, you must wait 30days before re-applying.

WHITELISTING PROCESS

We've decided to let the community have a large impact on the application process. When a application is posted a poll will open with a YES - NO - NEUTRAL, the poll will sit there for 7 DAYS before ending and closing the results. From there the player will either be accepted or denied after being reviewed by Head Staff. It will be completely acceptable for a player to "campaign" for votes and push fellow players to review their application. (Spamming mini-chat with your application link is a bad idea though)

Head Staff (Apop, Rahl, Feweh) reserve the right to deny ANY application should we feel they don't meet the expected standards.

DO NOT Circle Jerk each other's applications.

Circlejerking:
A group discussion or activity between like-minded individuals that validates mutual biases or goals.
Do NOT post an application then go to every other application and praise them all just so they'll turn around and vote for you. (happens with preds apps, we see it all the time and do watch for it)


Much like Predator, when you do post an application it will auto-fill you text with questions that you need to fill out.
It's important to understand that CO Whitelisting will NOT be as difficult to achieve as Predators. The main purpose of the application is to weed out random players, non-English speakers and trouble-some players.
