Reverse smartgun storage

Post by Kazuko_myu » 16 Jun 2017, 16:15

Bug Description: If you take any smartgun item out of the default crate the weapon + items are delivered in, you can take them out, but not in reverse put them in.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Be smartgunner.
2. Go to your locker room, retrieve smartgun system crate.
3. Take out any item from said crate, try to put it back in, be surprised it apparantly doesn't fit.

I'm pretty sure this is intentional.

For what reason, though. It's not like the items suddenly grow oversized the moment you retrieve them, or the crate shrinks.

Well it's like that with the Sentry Turret. Also, think of it like this. You have a tent that fits in a pretty small bag, now when you took it out it was folded nice and neatly. It actually fit into the bag, now once you've taken it out, you probably unfolded it, used it, then you tried to fold back and tried to make it fit. However it doesn't fit, because you didn't fold it correctly. Now apply that concept to the weapon container.

That.. doesn't make much sense though. If I take a parachute, unfold it, use it, and re-fold it by the same concept it has to be folded it will still fit in the same container it was stored in. I don't see why this is an 'intentional' game mechanic. If it fits from the start, why change it when nothing actually differs?

You know parachutes aren't folded by people right? Like literally it's done by robots, because they only can they actually fold it correctly every single time. It'd probably take a lot of tries before you actually manage to fold the parachute correctly so that it fits the backpack. I was going to use a parachute as an example but.....

Then people wouldn't self-fold their parachutes after basejumping though................

This works same as Sentry and Mounted Smartgun Boxes as well as Specs kits. Not needed, -1.
