Marine Law could use more specific laws.

Post by yung bruh » 29 Oct 2017, 19:04

The Marine Law page is perfectly fine the summarization and so on of the UCMJ and ecetra is flawless and perfectly fine. The problem I have is there are a lot of instances where I have played as an MP where I could've charged someone with a crime which is a real law but isn't included in the Marine Law's which makes them not subject to the Marine Law.

Examples of New Laws
  • Public Idecency
  • Eluding (Resisting Arrest but in a more complex way)
  • Battery- There is often a thin grey line between assault and battery and the severity of it and this should be added.
  • Slander-False accusations, ecetra.
  • Change "Terrorist Collaboration" to Conspiracy or Espionage-It sounds more official.
  • Assault of a Military Police Officer-Just to add to extra charges.
  • Grand Larceny-Grand theft basically, stealing the CL's gold lighter or whatever the fuck is valuable.
  • Sabotage-Self explanitory.
  • Attempted Murder-Not on the list for some reason.
This list is a WIP because I accidentally fucking posted this.

Public Indecency is just uniform violation and eluding is just resisting arrest.

I added more, but I am sure there are others who agree.

Public indencency: Hooligalism or improper uniform

    Eluding: resisting arrest

Battery: Assault or assault with deadly weapon (depends on context)

Slander: nothing severe here, but could be disordely conduct

    False accusations: self explanatory.

Conspiracy/espionage: terrorist colab anyway. It is applied two in one.

Assault of MP: You could just add another count of assault.

Grand lacerny-grad theft: its theft really.

    Sabotage: terrorist colab.

Attempted murder: either murder or assault with deadly weapon, really. Whatever the CMP thinks best.

You'll want to throw up a gitlab suggestion for additional marine laws to be approved as Marine law is only edited by Apop and Rahl, aka the Host and Co-Host.

    incoming double post

1: There's a difference. Eluding would be outrunning them for a large amount of time and hiding to the point they loose you.
2: There's still an ultimate difference between battery and assault. Battery isn't as serious. It's more to give a light punishment for small marine brawls.
3: The same thing, it just sounds better.
4: It's a more severe charge, but makes sense.
    5: There's a difference between theft and grand theft/larceny.
6: Sabotage: Any marine can sabotage something, doesn't mean the motive was purely a terrorist collaboration with the UPP, CLF, ecetra.
