Whitelist page

I've been looking into the various whitelists, and I almost feel it would be useful to have a page solely for documenting the various characters that are whitelisted to give people an easy breakdown of what's going on. This would make it simpler to quickly check up what a given Synth is like, or what is the preferred playstyle of your Predator friend with an unpronounceable name. Similarly, it would help people that are applying for a given role not to step on someone else's toes. It would be a useful resource, but also something that would have to be updated regularly.

What do you think? I can probably start working on that list soon, compiling the various approved applications and what not.

I'd like this especially for synths and preds, as a way to easily access and overview quirks/personalities would give a lot less repeats. I can help with the list if approved.

Predators are intentionally kept off the wiki. It's to prevent marines from learning all about the various mechanics and further abusing them.

Edit: Misunderstood the actual suggestion. I'd be okay with it, seeing as how it's literally just a redirect to the accepted apps.

I find that reasoning dubious since Predator mechanics are quite well understood by many people, which is unavoidable when players can not only spectate Predators but experience the sharp end of the stick so to speak with Predators.

If i'm honest I don't see a need for this when all accepted apps are listed on the forums, so searching for one specific app is just a name search away.

Yeah, omitting knowledge from the wiki mostly means newer players are further disadvantaged. Maybe not as much with the Predator info, but say, knowing the full map or the like. Experienced players will know the tunnel layout anyway, while some new xeno players don't have a resource they can use to help them...

Okay, Synths are done, Commanders and Predators have stubs. If anyone wants to help filling those out, have at it. Otherwise, I'll fill them out by myself slowly.

So...this is just a page on the wiki that links to certain applications on the forums.

I see no point in having this added. If someone wants to make an application I doubt they'll be wiki diving.

On the contrary, I'd personally would've loved to have this resource around when I was applying. It would allow me to have the basic idea of every Synth Quirk currently out there without reading all of the applications. Same with Predators.

Moreover, as a marine player, I'm often interested in knowing what are the quirks of the Synths that are in the round. It's much easier to check just one page for them, since some of them are subtle enough that you might not notice them during the normal play - not everyone is a Mortimer .

Hmm, looking at the page again, perhaps the Commander portion of the page 1)Doesn't add much and 2)Eats up too much space. So if it was cut out, with only the Synth and Predator whitelists being there, perhaps it would be more useful?

I like the idea, it shows people what applications have already been made in a simple format and helps to avoid duplication in the apps. I'll try to help if I can.

I see no problem with that as it would make the process of making whitelists easier because you'd have every playstyle/information listed, this would kill duplications/similarities and the tiring search that everyone is submitted to do when making their whitelist.
