Kha'bj-te Kuzal (Reckless Pride) - Reapplication

Post by Monoo » 11 Jun 2017, 16:43

Byond ID: MonocledGerbil

Marine Name (so we know who you are, if you play alien mostly, state that here): Jools Kirby

Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name): Kha'bj-te Kuzal

Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor? Yes.

Character background (A very BRIEF description of your predators background):
► Show Spoiler
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)? As I've done previously, I'll mostly be focusing on melee fights with single marines or xenomorphs. In order to restore my predator's damaged pride to its former levels and to prove his worth in single combat, he will isolate a combatant and attempt to get them alone through any means, during which some of his more unstable side may slip out, provoking interesting RP situations with his quarry or their fellows. Of course, I'll stay within the bounds of the honor code and the predator section of the rules while doing so.

Why should we whitelist you? I was already a predator for some time, and I never broke any rules. I believe I was removed from the whitelist for inactivity while I was waiting for predator reworks to occur, despite being very active on the subforum, and I would like to renew my status if possible. I consider myself an above average RPer, having around seven years of experience in writing and participating in text-based roleplays, and I do my very best to follow the rules on the server at all times.

Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? No.

Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why? No.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor? Yes. Should I ever break the Honor Code, I am ready to accept the consequences.
I play as this guy, proudly being dismembered by extraterrestrials since 2015.
Sometimes I might play other guys, you never know.

Well, you have been on the list before, so you have experience in the area of predator-ing already, only losing it due to inactivity. I don't think it would hurt to bring you back to the team and have an old hunter back on the roster.

Although, take it from me, unless the target is a rambo, you aren't going to get getting a lot of opportunities to solo-fight. Get used to being ganged up on, chased, and overwhelmed a lot.

I'm just sayin, since a lot of applicants seem to not realize the true weakness of predators, and how you really gotta use your noggin if you want to survive as a hunter, not just rely on your fancy tech and sharp weapons.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

I've been mobbed a lot in the past... it's not fun usually.

Having a rare moment, I think, is the name of the game, though. I think it puts a nice layer of restraint on playing predator so that otherwise you don't go too, hem, hog wild.

I like your backstory, it's very good at showing how Kha'bj-te was once a boastful asshat, was too focused on his honor to help his kin, and now only continues to be a boastful asshat to hide the fact that he regrets being too much of an attention seeker.

Could use more yautja with clearly defined flaws.

Seeing as you've already been a Predator before, you should already know what you're doing. +1, good luck.

+1

As said before, intresting story and a bit original, besides you've been predator before I guess that makes you legit even more.
Though, I am expecting you to follow the way you will play you predator as it is written here, unlike those bunch of plasma casters we've saw. The community is currently pretty pissed at those.

Other than that, yeah, sounds good to me, +1.

Hmmm, you being a already predator before probably gives you a lot of respect. However with time, standards change and I'm not entirely sure when this whitelist became existent. Though I certain it was easier to obtain it I'm sure, considering there was no set standards for anyone. So I'm taking that into consideration, while I don't really see you on the server, your forum activity is more then optimal and you obviously have dedication to the community. So that's out of the way.

The backstory is short, but it makes it point clear and bold. Though I'm confused about the bit where he kills "Hardmeats" I've done my bit of research, obviously not right now. Though I've never come across a mention of "hardmeats" I'd assume they're xenomorphs? But then it contradicts my thought when you address xenomorphs as serpents towards the end, so I'm confused. Also you put "the hollow silence as he looked around to find each and every one of his companions torn and broken on the ground around him." Are you implying the rest of the young bloods perished while he alone managed to fend off all the victorious "hardmeats" that had killed his fellow youngbloods? I'm very confused, though it may be my part as a reader however you may elaborate or explain my confusion. By no means is it a giant thing, but it really gets me thinking.

Your character, is bold, and reckless. Showing off his kills and bounty of the hunt, then I realize...doesn't every Yautja hunter do that? Then the elders shun him for boating? The elders obviously wouldn't like that you care very little for your fellow youngbloods, but they wouldn't approve that you valiantly survived your hunt? It's possible that it's just your clan but that would be a little too simple of an explanation if I'm honest, as you show very little unique quality when it comes to your clan so I assume it's a pretty standard clan. Your Yautja feels like his entire everything, his honor, the approval of his elders has turned upside down correct? So is it just your predator's way of thinking? I'm interpreting this in my own way so please do explain because you are the writer.

Your playstyle, in itself is very standard, while your character has personality. It won't change the round that much, playing standard is fine. However unless you admit to it, I find it very annoying. It's a me problem I know, but I'd like to point that out because it makes me think you don't realize it's standard and in definition means you aren't really trying to make the round that more interesting. I'm not attempting to be rude it's just very concerning. You should know what should and shouldn't be done. I'm a very easy person to convince so you should be able to land in the ball park with me to get some support.

I await your response to give either negative or positive support. Till then I'm Neutral.

Hey, I welcome the criticism. Always good to know what you may need to approve on.

"Though I'm confused about the bit where he kills "Hardmeats" I've done my bit of research, obviously not right now. Though I've never come across a mention of "hardmeats" I'd assume they're xenomorphs?"

Kiande amedha is "hard meat" in the Yautja language, and is another word for xenomorphs in the same way that pyode amedha is "soft meat," meaning humans or other weaker prey. It's a pretty heavy phrase to just throw around all the time, so I used it and "serpents" to refer to the xenos interchangeably, hopefully to strain the reader a little less.

"Also you put "the hollow silence as he looked around to find each and every one of his companions torn and broken on the ground around him." Are you implying the rest of the young bloods perished while he alone managed to fend off all the victorious "hardmeats" that had killed his fellow youngbloods? I'm very confused, though it may be my part as a reader however you may elaborate or explain my confusion."

I'm sorry if my writing was a little illegible, I'm bad for that sometimes. What I mean to convey is that Kha'bj-te chose a particularly large and powerful xenomorph to pursue, and in his mad desire for glory didn't realize that his hunt unnecessarily got all of the other youngbloods killed until he finally ended his target and looked around.

"Showing off his kills and bounty of the hunt, then I realize...doesn't every Yautja hunter do that? Then the elders shun him for boating? The elders obviously wouldn't like that you care very little for your fellow youngbloods, but they wouldn't approve that you valiantly survived your hunt?"

I think it would vary, had it been a different group of predators or a different youngblood than the one known for being reckless and proud. The elders disapproved because despite technically becoming Blooded and passing the trial, Kha'bj-te did not act in the proper hunter's fashion and was careless and wasteful, thus killing an entire next generation of his fellow hunters. This shames him to his core, and for his entire life, but ironically he cannot escape it as he seeks to redeem himself by hunting in the same fashion.

"Your playstyle, in itself is very standard, while your character has personality. It won't change the round that much, playing standard is fine. However unless you admit to it, I find it very annoying. It's a me problem I know, but I'd like to point that out because it makes me think you don't realize it's standard and in definition means you aren't really trying to make the round that more interesting."

I will admit my playstyle is a little weak. But I find that predators that create an overly unique playstyle lack a certain flexibility for roleplay... they restrict themselves too much and sometimes can't take advantage of good situations. I like to keep my options open a little more, if that makes sense. I'll still try my best to make things interesting for others.

Again, I appreciate the constructive criticism and hope you find my answers were satisfactory.

As said by Reno, you'll never have a 1v1, and if you do, your prey will most likley run away when it's about to die and you can't chase a xeno. I don't even look at backstory because i'm a lazy fucko anyone besides other preds don't know crap about your history in particular. Anyways, i'll still give you a +1 because you know how to play pred and i have the hopes that you'll kidnap me, gear me and make fight your pred to death.

I literally first saw you yesterday in the server. Even more than forum activity, participation in game and in the community is essential to being whitelisted.

Good RP also requires good writing skills and grasp of English, neither of which you displayed really... gonna have to -1. -1 for you too

You're literally THAT guy. He haves the option to tell you your app was shit because your app WAS shit. Trust me, I know shit apps, I make them all the time. You are new here, so you'll learn in time that with that attitude you won't go anywhere.

You have a long way to go before stop being a shitter. Good luck.

Will post review when back from Spain. I'll get my opinion out now rather than later: it's going to be a -1. Don't have time nor the reliable WiFi to review at the moment.
