This game is only in early access so it's free, thought this would be a good way to start this.

Anyway, this game is a war-sim game, basically you play one soldier in an army. The two sides are the Colonials (fuck these guys) and the Wardens (super cool guys).
You could run logistics building defences, gathering scrap, making weapons, moving supplies to the front lines, managing coalitions and more.
Or you could be someone on the front lines, using mortars, artillery, HMGs, Rifles, SMGs, grenades of different sorts, go around medicing; hell you can even use your fists!

The basic way the game works is there is a map given, and on the map are towns which can be owned by one of the two factions. Each town has different utilities at it to use such as hospitals, factories, vehicle workshops and other things.
The objective of both teams is to take over all the towns on the map, thus winning the battle. Once one side takes over all the map, the game resets and it begins anew round basically.
There is so other stuff to the game like a ranking system but it is not that important.

We've got a couple of the staff playing it already, and myself and some others play it on discord occasionally, wouldn't mind having a game night for this.

Nope, only factions are Wardens and Colonials,
You can't make your own towns.
All defences are player made so technically you can make your own outposts that serve no purpose other then being a way point in between locations and supply posts.

Yea but it's free and no micro transactions, when its full released you'll have to buy it.

There is no actual date for this, if Apop or someone else set up a game night there would be a specific date, however normally the peeps in discord just hang out and play it if people feel like it.

Played the hell out of this game when it was free, I personally ran logistics transporting scrap to the frontlines the whole player driven war really makes the game stand out. Sadly its payed now and I am a poor man.

Bumping this because it's on track to get it's open world update within the next couple months. Been interesting watching the meta change. Currnetly it's artillery hell meta, after the ww1 grindfest meta get nerfed a bit by upping sulfur spawns. Next update is the one that will add much better map tools, as well as a proper scouting system, and jeeps.

I've put over 50 hours into that game. It is a massive amount of fun and I urge a game night. It just works and the devs are active and adding content all the time.

While I do think going colonials would be more appropriate because the whole name thing, we probably would, if we ever did something, want to go warden as they seem to have the lower pop at the moment on the main server, and thus shorter ques.

Plus I dig the ww1 french aesthetic they got going on.
