I don't understand why people aren't boycotting EA already
Too large of a company, not enough 'organized' resistance to them.

Just to let everyone know, EA has closed all in game purchases in response to worldwide criticism along with a huge profit loss due to pre order cancels. That means no money for credits/star cards. EA has said all unlocks will be done via progression and not money, ultimately it seems in game purchases will be returning in the future but for cosmetics only.

TLDR; The boycott worked.

I mean, that's great, but the problem is just going to come back. We've all seen what EA's plan is with this game, so they might've taken a step back for now but we've seen their intentions. I'm just going to stay away from EA games for the forseable future, because they are just going to try and replicate this system but more gradually so they don't get as much backlash.

Also how sad is it that the gaming community has to accept getting RNG based micro-transactions as a victory.

I hear they are taking lootboxes to the 100% total shitstreme.
They removed the refund button from Origin, all refunds must be done via email now.

EA has lost about 15% of their stock value due to this boycott and controversy, and it's still going down.

Instead they file false copyright claim any youtube video containing even a second of any of their content

Don't idolize companies, some may seem better than others but in the end they'll all fuck you over if it means more money in their pocket because they exist to make money, not to make people happy

Pretty much this. It's more like pick your poison in exchange for entertainment.
