Fallout 76 and my thoughts on the game

Post by SoldierBoy21 » 17 Nov 2018, 09:11

although being extensively online fallout 76 is an amazing multiplayer game and should be taken as a shinning beacon to all MMOSGs (Mass Multiplayer Online Survival Games). it has its bugs but is extremely fun to play with friends because of its base capture the flag with some compounds. the graphics are beyond next level and can be considered amazing but this is my personal view. the weapons are balanced and it does not differ from all the other fallouts. it does have a base building part to it and also has deposits for minerals and junk (literally junk deposits). I have spent time with a friend playing it for about 24 hours and we have already reached above level 13
. fallout 76 has captured the image of what a survival game is all about and I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10 and would receive a 10 when some of the bugs are cleared up. thanks for reading

The graphics are awful.

The engine is awful.

It's barely an RPG and it's PVP elements are laughable.

I got sent a free copy of the game and turned it down because its that lazily put together.

But that's just my opinion

Fallout 76 is not a new 'Fallout'. As a good old franchise player, I can say that Fallout 76 is a game very different from the others because it is closer to being an online FPS than an RPG.

They worried so much about griefers that it ended up crippling the PvP aspect of the game. There is no way to kill a player unless he/she engages you as well, which never happens logically, as they will generally be at a disadvantage.

The vastness of the world without any human NPC or possibility of choices makes the game empty and husked. Bethesda at some point forgot what makes the Fallout franchise a success and ended up creating 76.

Still, the main problem is the terrible engine being used since Skyrim, which was only used to save them time, money and accelerate the production of the game.

I preordered the game, and I don't know what to think of it. It doesn't feel like a fallout game to me. There are no recognizable NPCs, and the main enemy is pretty boring.

im having fun on it so far when playing with friends. Also there are pvp areas and events that flag you to be attacked so you dont always have the both have to atta ck thing. They have also said that dlc will be free and one of the thing they are looking to add is faction based PVP. If we get to join the enclave and BoS then blast each other that will be pretty tight in my opinion. I think its fun survival game with friends and im waiting to see what kind of DLC they add.

only thing thats driving me nuts so far is these insane patch sizes. today has a 47 gig patch and on my busted ass internet that downloads 2 gigs an hour that means I have to run the download for an entire day while not being able to do anything on the internet. Luckily I sleep and work all day today.

FO76 Just isn't my thing, way too stripped down. I'll be sticking to NV and FO4.

If you got sent a free copy and turned it down does that mean you didn't play the game yet?

I've spoke to multiple people, within the industry and outside it and the result is, a very disappointing, lazily put together game with only a few merits.

And I actually decided to redeem the game and I'll be trying it out later. But yeah, the whole "B-But d-did you p-play it" argument holds little ground.

I heard what they really wanted was a game like this but set in the elder scrolls universe and they used tge Fallout franchise as a sort of testing ground for the ideas and presentation

I will never support Bethesda until Todd stops selling Morrowind mods and makes a new engine

76 is a good game IMO. Not as roleplay'y as the actual FO series but it has a distinct difference from say rust or so. Quests allow you to piece together a story of how the outside has managed and let you make your own conclusions. The graphics to me are amazing compared to other games that came out recently. And the gameplay is similar to one of the series'.
Only faults I see since playing it the second beta opened is, pvp is a fucking joke. And inventory management is fucking no where to be found.

Sounds weird to get the game after turning down a free option.
