I've always thought the guardsmen were cool, but I don't know a lot about this system or enough about the universe. If someone could let me know what I'd have to research I might want in! Assuming you'd be fine with a warhammer noob joining.

As someone also playing the DnD and knows jack shit about the universe but kinda the system , I found this video good for learning about the Imperial Guard (just listened to it while playing a round of CM) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbLdATQ41lQ

And to learn the system i'd suggest just reading the Only War rulebook that is in the post at the start under the roll20 link.

Is OK to not know the lore. IC we are from a frontier world so it's not a problem to know about the world.

I'd like to play as a rifleman/scout/trapper with a Lasgun and a close-combat weapon.

Which class would you suggest for me? Weapon specialist seems the most open ended to me.

It was pretty interesting, and I am honored to be the first PC to give his name for the Emperor, but I think I'm going to take a break from this. It just seems like there are two many people in one session. In two hours I got to go twice. Not saying anything bad about the game, I think Loko did a great job of incorporating new players and keeping things moving, but I think I'll wait a bit before re-rolling.

Yeah the playercount was a bit excessive, especially for an online session where it's bound to be slow. But we burned through the turns much more quickly compared to the first session and like you said Loko kept things quick and smooth and I liked that very much. Hope you can join us again!

i have to agree, I wasn't sure if too many people would be good and we ended up takignt oo much time.
