say what you think of them here
are the abilities good?
do you think we'll be getting some kind of balance changes to them in the future?


I find it interesting that we have shifted from runners, who have little health, being a majority by players to defenders, who are really tanky and less prone to accidental death/death in general.

Yet another thread about new castes, but okay, why not.

Well, they are darn strong. Why? Armor+health and it's not that long to be an ancient when playing as one of them. Have you seen how many crushers there are for an average game? That is an answer for how good they are. Now, you may ask, why evolve in prae then? It's because of the update as well, this cone of acid is instant, has a pretty long range, knocks you down and hurts.

Onto abilities. Their abilities are also good. Fortify makes defender an unkillable fortress, good for covering boiler or making an impassable wall. I haven't experienced the difference when toggling crest defense, but it's probably because i'm not playing as xenos too much, but sacrificing speed for armor sounds fair. From what i've experienced almost no one uses tail sweep, i suppose it's because of quick upgrades aka "getting older" and there's no need for that as tackle chance is pretty big. Now... headbutt is pretty strong as you can use hit n' run tactic to really mess up marines and chance to break a bone hurts. So that's about defender.

About Warrior. This one is much, much stronger than defender. It's not that fast, but it has ability to move faster. When using "Punch" you have 100% chance to break a bone and as i said before, breaking bones hurts, for example, if you break hand/arm marine won't be able to hurt you too much as one-handed pulse rifle/shotgun is something that i wouldn't be worried about and if you break leg/foot, he won't be able to run too fast, broken chest/skull will put him into paincrit sooner or later, win-win. Next is "Lunge" aka better pounce. When you grab a marine as warrior, he literally can't do anything, seriously, it's like you would be holding a dummy or something. You're free to devour him without worrying too much about his escape plan as there won't be any as long you will hold him. Now, "Rip Limb", i think the only thing i can say here is 100% decap.
Last one is "Fling", this ability is something that is not used, because grabbed marine either will be your meatshield absorbing all bullets or a luggage you will carry back to hive. That's pretty much about warrior.

I really hope that they will get nerfed, but im pretty chill about that as they already got nerfed against preds a day ago and everyone is crying about them, so yeah. Stay calm and nerf defenders/warriors.

Defenders are great in the early game for capturing survivors in their somewhat fortified positions because they can take slugs and buckshot better than any other T1. They're great in the midgame for defending boilers and crowd control with sweep and headbutt. They're great in the late game for being practically immortal. Crusher is really only needed for assaulting incredibly fortified positions, and even then the horde of warriors and ravs can tear down most barricades under cover of boiler gas relatively easily.

Warrior is something that marines haven't seen before, which I think is what's causing xeno stomps. It's a stand and fight xeno. Punch is fantastic, use it constantly. Fling is great for when you speed around a marine group and then smack a marine or two into the horde for capture or kill. For groups of five marines or less a good combo is fling + punch when they've landed. I've found lunge to be somewhat less useful because, to their credit, most groups of marines will try to save captured comrades and circle around you. And you become sluglike when dragging. But if you do manage to catch a lone marine, nothing is more satisfying then tearing their legs off and bringing them back for infecting.

I haven't played the new prae yet, but it looks like the xeno equivalent of pyro spec and is great for leadership pheremones.

Okay. Let me tell you real fast and clear why its bullshit.

Defenders are t1 so age real fast and can spawn immediately as many as xrno wants.
Defenders can stunlock, damage, tank hp etc.

Attackers are faster than runners. Can 100% break bones with one click (yeah so during a push thats a one hit kill).
Other than that its 'okay' but really? Faster than whats meant to be the fastest? *golfclap

Also prae 3x spray and the new speed is dumb.
SS13 is all about stuncombat.
If one now fast alien that cannot be stunned can just go in and out spraying 1.5x3 tiles and backup, stunning AND DAMAGINGS for at LEAST 5 seconds, well sir this is retarded. Such a powerful asset belonged to the boiler as a DEFENSIVE perk.

Inb4 Queen with 2x4 acid spray.

Earlier today xenos won a 7 v 100 due to warriors killing everyone who were alone or in small groups. Which was everyone. I was a elite warrior in that group and it was fun to make that come back eventually we thinned it to a 22 v 50 on the Almayer

I played that round, if you mean the Prison one. Slugged a lot of warriors, but they just ran away, faster than we could chase them, only to return later. Very sad.
