Make use of the stealth ability. It's surprisingly effective given most marines are half blind and constantly moving. Some people will just stare at you cloaked while ontop of someone slashing them. Also make sure to only pick fights against marines where you have an escape just in case support shows up. Pick your fights.

Thanks for sharing, I'll try do this when I play xeno next time. I also heard it's a good idea to pounce around while stalking to move around faster

Well, as a Young Lurker, you regen 8 plasma per sec, and your pounce costs 10 with a ~5 second cooldown. So as long as you're on weed, those pounces are probably gonna be free

If not, you have enough plasma to pounce so many times before you have to ask queen for plasma refill anyway.

There is the "chad lurker" playstyle where you rush into the group of 10 marines while constantly moving you slash the SGs to death while avoiding any damage. Then there is the "can't get whitelisted as pred" playstyle, where you use stealth 99% of the time, patiently wait for your prey, stand near a big group of marines, point at them to make them scared.

The first playstyle might be better suited for a runner since it has a faster running speed.

Lurker is great for picking off wandering marines though, hide cloaked around a corner and simply wait for a lone marine to show up, then pounce them and slash them quickly.

Wait for mature at least, elite is better though. Aim for the chest as you're strong enough to break ribs directly.
Groups of two, wait for them to be close to each other, pounce the shotgunner first, disarm the second.
Groups of three, run in Neo Style, disarm a rifleman, pounce a shotgunner, disarm the third one, slash the first you disarmed, repeat.
Groups of four, don't do that unless you've became the Chad Hunter, as stated above, until you're able to just avoid shots, dealing chest fractures, then once you slightly disabled one or two, rush in, disarm and pounce. Slash the rest.

Lurker is currently, imo, the strongest solo class.

I personally choose to aim for the legs, if you can break a foot or a leg it will severely slow their movement speed, making them much easier to slash since they can't dodge, nor can they escape unless help arrives or you're chased off.

You're strong alone, but a pair of skilled lurkers can do far more damage than even the most robust solo chad since teamwork lets you tackle considerably larger groups if you can coordinate well.

I wasn't refering specifically to how an additional xeno obviously is better, more specifically the effect is synergistic if you two can work together.

Also I'll sleep you when you're fighting xenus just you wait.

I play Lurker behind the lines, I'm often the last alive and killing all the time. The way I do this is with a heavy reliance on the stealth of the caste. There's plenty of dark tiles or 'dirty' tiles filled with blood and items that a lurker can use to their advantage. Not to mention the natural tiles of all the maps, weeds and the vent system(still kinda' broken).
You're the big brother of the Runner, the hit and run guys who come out of the dark corners to cause terror.
Unfortunately they nerfed the skilled portion of Xeno with tackles, so we'll have to rely on your pounce as your tackle is absolutely worthless now. Seriously, don't expect much from it as this caste.

So who do you attack and where do you go?

Your ideal stalking ground has multiple escape routes and plenty of tiles to hide on. Weeds are a big bonus but they shouldn't decide where your hunting grounds are.
You're a master of stealth bud, you can sneak into marine lines and even their FOB with relative ease.
Now on the whole who to attack part
Lone Marines, you can easily stun lock these guys and drag them off for capture or easy kills. Groin, always the groin.
When you're a ballsy Mature or Elite Lurker, groups aren't outside the realm of possibilities. If you intend to pounce a target the safest bet is the guy with the shotgun. 9/10 the Pulse rifle marine won't be able to kill you while you dance around the downed marine and break his bones.
Medics/Engineers/Specialist- These are your prime targets right here, as the ultimate in Xeno flanking technology your ultimate goal should be disabling these utility roles. The easiest way to kill these are learning common Marine travel paths and some patience. Engineers are often enough left alone to be picked off, this also applies to Medics. During marine pushes there's inevitably a small area where wounded and medics gather outside of the action, this is a great place time to cause damage to the Medics and carry off wounded.
Beware Claymores, they're often found on the Hydro road on LV, Surrounding FOBs on Big Red and anywhere you can imagine. Take time as a Lurker to approach your attacks, most marines will never notice you.
Movement, the human eye can detect movement pretty fucking easily bub. You should move tile to tile very slowly and preferably out of Marine LoS, pouncing is a great way to move tiles rapidly with little notice to your movements.

Idk man I'm kinda' drunks so ask away or people can elaborate.

Cloak behind enemy lines stay on dark tiles and pounce on unsuspecting marines and slash them in the groin. Walk two steps away from them and they won't be able to find you should you do this right

You'd think that wouldn't work. But you'd be wrong. The updated stalk sprite is so good when your on dark tiles, only marines who are actively looking for you will spot you off of weeds.

I play loads of lurkers. Heres my tips.
- Don't bother stealthing. Camoflauge is cool. . sometimes. But using it slows you down, robust marines will spot you anyways (Even if its virtually invisible now), and its a hassle trying to toggle in and out of on the fly.
- You're not tanky. Infact, you're not a whole lot better than a runner. Lurkers get cuckshotted too, albeit not as often. Shotguns are your worse enemy though. If you miss a pounce on a shotgun wielding marine, run. If theres a group of marines and one is armed with a shotgun, don't bother if you don't want to die. One mistake and you might find yourself in crit to a PB buckshot.
- Don't rely on your pounce. TACKLE TACKLE TACKLE. If you're attacking a lone marine, dont just pounce them. Start dragging them, slash them a few times, then spam tackle until you get the sound cue.
- On that note, master hotkeys. This is a general tip. Use 1-4 to swap intents. WASD to move. A good lurker/runner masters harm/tackle revolving after a grab.
- If you're fighting a group, DO NOT POUNCE. Ignore the posts above. Once again, if you're fighting robust marines they'll take you down with an m41a. Move in on foot, TACKLE TACKLE TACKLE. Slash tackled marines or slash them while they're trying to dance with you. Pounce is an escape tool in these situations. You want to have it up.
- Once again, if anybody has a shotgun don't fight them.
- Lurkers CAN fight on the frontlines SITUATIONALLY. Dont ever move in with the queen or a frontal push. Hit from the flanks. If you're waiting for a screech, wait from the flanks. On this same note, dont bother trying to fight in a cramped space. You'll die. This is a stretch as far as frontlining goes, because flank-strats go hand-in-hand with what lurkers are made for.
- Shotguns arent your only danger. If you see a flamer, never attack. Infact, even if they're in a group and you're feeling confident, dont attack. -You will die-.
- When you're not making picks, you should be scouting and constantly reporting information. Anyone whose not in the hive or at the frontlines should be scouting and constantly relaying information. This wont just make you a better player, but everyone in general.

I've been a hunter/lurker main pretty much since I started playing

-Stalking is your friend, but only on the right tiles. If you stalk on clean tiles like a road or indoor tiles you will be easy to spot. Stick to using it on grass, weeds, garbage piles, and any other messy tile.
-Vents are your friends and should be your main way of travelling, marines can't see you while you are in them and you can quickly jump out and pounce a marine whos not paying attention. Try not to move around in them too much when marines are on your screen, because you will make noises they can hear
-Despite popular belief, shotguns are not that scary if you have the skill and know how. The key is to bait a marine using it into prematurely firing their rounds, then pounce them while they are pumping another round in. Use feint charges and don't approach until they've fired. Stay away from shotgun teams though, because they will wreck your shit.
-For mutations select: Health buff, plasma nerf, speed buff, pull buff and damage buff in that order
-Try to wreak havoc in the rear areas, medics and engineers should be your prime targets
-Don't be afraid to team up with another lurker. Competent lurker teams can be the deadliest things in the game, I've personally been able to wipe out entire squads with another strong lurker
-If you take damage, go back and heal. You should always be at full health when attacking prey. Don't get cocky.

Also ignore the advise about not using pounce. Pounce is by far the best xeno ability in the game. Just make sure to use it in the right situations as you are stationary for a short time after pouncing. ie. don't pounce in the middle of a group of marines
