Humans Vs Serpents

Humans Vs Serpents

Alright, so I've played a few rounds as predator. And I just want to ask the genuinely experienced members, what exactly is more fun to hunt?
Personally I believe humans, are by-far more interesting to hunt. They're got personality, independence, and most importantly; no tackle spam. They're funny to see run around attempting to shoot you, acting as if you can't just take out your Plasma Caster and blast them away. Obviously I don't, but you get the just of it. While they're definitely more interesting to hunt, what they lack is satisfaction. I feel more satisfied after killing a serpent than a marine. Probably because they are so damn slippery. It's like trying to hold onto soap covered in butter, while your hands are covered in oil. Obviously you're more likely to die to serpents than anything else. That's an issue I have, you can easily die from serpents, but when it comes to marines apparently guns are less likely to kill me. It comes to two choices. Either A. I hunt humans, and I get to live to tell the tale. Or B. I try to hunt serpents and get tackle spammed to death.

I want to know your opinions, I've heard all about it on discord. Though not all of you hang around on there. So, tell me what you think guys.

I like the challenge of Xenos, the RP of Marines.

I like to hang around and watch both sides - if a Marine kills a Xeno 1v1 I butcher the Xeno in front of him and present him the hide.

The thing with Marines is barring a lucky RNG or SADAR/B18 catching you not moving, they're going to be hard pressed to put up a fair fight. If I'm going to "duel" a Marine I relocate it far away from other Marines and use my fists - while also giving it a dagger or other weapon. Honorable duels beget honorable rewards; unless the Hunt calls for hunting Marines I tend to be more merciful. Seeing as they rarely stand a chance in 1v1.

On another side; rarely use the spike launcher if you can help it. I had to use it on a lodge defense last night and while I only killed directly one Marine, I'm certain with the IB/fractures others were out for a long time or even died.

Xenos is where all the fun is, marines don't stand too much of a challenge on 1v1

Xenos challenge, little RP. Humans, usually way less challenge, more RP generally.

When I roll predator, I always tend to lean more towards xenos than marines.

Marines are fun to fuck with and all, but if you wanted to seriously HUNT them? It is difficult, due to how often they are in huge, well lit groups and armed with weapons that could easily get a predator killed within moments if everyone focused fire on you.. and they ALWAYS do the moment one of them gets hurt. The only ones you can get alone are the dumb rambos or the really cocky marines that insist on chasing you across the jungle, far from their squadmates. Even then, due to how squishy they are, it feels more like bullying than hunting.

Xenos, on the other hand, are much more difficult to kill, yet much more rewarding. There is a certain thrill to roaming the jungle, finding a T3 xeno, and then smashing its face it until it becomes a nice wall decoration. Hell, every game I go predator, I always try to get at least 1 T3, not just because of how tough they tend to be, but how difficult it is to get them in general. I always well up with pride when I manage to snag a praetorian or crusher for the collection. Of course, there are always risks involved with hunting valuable xenos, and they are quick to defend them with everything they have just to protect a single xeno... And if you spot a ravager? RUN.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

Xenos are fun and challenging to fight. Xenos are also much more rewarding I love seeing all my Xeno skins whenever I can get some or one even. I love hunting humans as well though because they produce better role play and sometimes you can get duels out of them. I think it's all up to how you want to play and how you want to hunt.

Its a mix for me. I try to lean on hunting xenos more than marines, but, for me, they're nowhere near as fun to hunt/spook as marines.

Like, I had a game earlier today where I spent about an hour and a half in a rivalry with Delta SL Martin because she said 'Fuck you' over a radio I stole after I murdered a Charlie spec and PFC. After a short scuffle at Engineering, they went with their team to Hydro and they unfortunately got captured (after dying, of course). I rescued them from capture, only to have a 1v1 duel which ended in their death. But rather than taking their head as a trophy, I paid respects, took the knife they stabbed me with in Engineering, and returned their body to the medics.

You can have a rivalry with an ayy, sure. But nowhere near as interesting as this.
Commander Joseph 'Goliath' Clancy, occaisonal Charlie SL. Widowed father of three. Sufferer of PTSD and extremely Australian.
Corpswoman Judith 'Mèrci' Clancy, quiet, caring daughter looking out for her siblings.
Warrant Officer Emile Clancy, Strict ex-police chief, now a tired CMP.
Xenomorph Queen 'Pandinus' ruler of the Alpha Hive. "I want more children!"
'R'ka Us'Tribi' Serpent Trapper, hateful predator.

It's harder to have a 'satisfying' fight with marines, being fragile and human as they are.

I like to RP more with marines, At one point I had a guy use his last dying breath, begging me to save his friend, I let him die a cinematic death and later found out the friend managed to escape and started a rivalry with me, it was great.

Xenos on the other hand, they're fun to hunt and fighting them is very satisfying, lately I've been going after xenos more and spend the downtime RPing and scaring the bejeezus out of marines.
