dylanstrategie's CO App

Player name you use the most: Henry Alouette

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link: Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines? Yes, I understand

Why should you be whitelisted? I have been playing Commander a lot more lately whenever I can play Marine, and I am taking a more RP approach to it. I try to approach Command with competency, but I always try to give it an interesting spin. Notably having a battleplan I really want to put in place, instead of using cut-and-dry 1 FOB 2 Scouts 1 Power setups. I also tend to actually be active whenever I can and hold rounds through to the end outside of IRL issues. An enjoyable round for the Marines is when Command is active and responsible. Doesn't mean I will send every single last bauble they want, but I'll still guide them, ask them for sitreps and generally try to figure out what the situation on the ground is with the rest of the Command crew

Another part of Command that is quite important is maintaining round RP. When the Marines just start throwing themselves at the Xenos like a cheap FPS, it's time to step in, try to inject some tactics into it, and deny the inevitable full retreat once someone dies. Or avoid boring, painful rounds where the Marines hunker down in the Nexus for two hours.

We could use more commanders that aren't afraid to stray from metas and try new things to spice up rounds. Keeping things fresh with new ideas makes marine life all the more interesting.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

Your XO disagree's with your orders to hold out on the ground. He argues with you and yall engage in a verbal argument. You then decide to lead from the front and leave the bridge to get prepped. As soon as you leave he makes a command announcement to retreat.

What do you do?

I assume I would have personally send a command announcement announcing I am about to go down, so that part wouldn't be a surprise to the Marines. From there, I would take a series of action.

Once I land and the comms work again, I would immediately use both Command and the planet frequency to belay the XO's orders, he is overstepping his authority. From there, I would continue on my way to lead by example, link up with the main Marine push and lead them back to the front. Marines tend to appreciate direct leadership. If ever this fails and the Marines are running for it, coming back up is always an option

Avoiding the inevitable full retreat seems like something you'll have the most trouble with to be honest, I doubt you'll be fazed by it, but BO's, SL's and a majority of PFC's tend to think that 'When in doubt, Retreat' is the best tactic.
Garth Pawolski, or is it Powalski?

I have been, although my other duties prevent me from being on frequently enough to chain up round after round. Still have a few CO rounds and a bunch of BO rounds under my belt

He's usually busy making the game instead of playing it.

I believe I've had you as a BO before. You didn't blow up the Sulaco so +1.
