Dominick Oneal's Commander Application

Post by Togopal » 15 Jan 2017, 20:02

Byond ID:Togopal

Player name you use the most: Dominick Oneal

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link:

Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?
Yes

Why should you be whitelisted?

I've been a commander multiple times in the past to prove my experience, and I believe people who have witnessed me can agree. I have been in situations where I was the only Officer for three quarters of the round and still managed to lead the Marines to victory. There have been a lack of willing people for the Command role when I have been on as I have observed, and I could help change that.

I saw what you did.

Also, app is bland but I honestly don't think it matters because it's always a pleasure to work with you ingame. +1

Xenos have overrun the ground but you are fairly equal in number, how do you rile the marines up and get them to go back down and how do you go about doing it?

Before I go on with my answer, let me just say that working with marines after xeno ground takeover is a complete nightmare. I've experienced it all the time as Commander, my experiences are mainly on LV-624 but I'm sure Ice Colony is no different. Injuries pile up and marines will fear for their life, save for the rambos who want to go down with or without their team. This is going by the best case scenario that said amount of marines ARE willing to cooperate, and the aliens aren't planning on instantly attacking.

I'd rally up the marines at Briefing, tell them there is still hope if we don't give the fight up, due to our numbers. I'd merge squads due to their scarce numbers, and ensure them that everything will be alright if they follow orders. I'd send a large, merged squad down via the pod, and order them to start making their way back to LZ1, sticking together and gunning down anything (eggs and aliens) in their path. During this, the smaller merged squad would be fixing and fortifying the Rasputin. If the aliens are focusing their attention on the group sent down, the attackers would be ordered into the nearby building, meanwhile the other squad would be sent down in the now-fortified dropship, to defend and push from their position. This combined assault would hopefully clamp the xenos and force them to retreat with great loss or die off as a whole.

Going to say your application is really, really short, I have no Idea who you are, that's fine with me, if you show me that your good I'll Give you the plus one, So I am going to ask a few questions which I have seen in my times as CO, XO, and BO.

You Order/received commands to take X area and to push, After relaying this order over Comms, or Status, they refuse to follow it what do you do.

You have a marine who is annoying you in briefing after you ask everyone to be silent ((booing, golf clapping etc)) do you arrest them if so explain why or why not

The Nexus is being over ran, your squads have a decent amount of men, and ammo to hold out, what is your plan of action, do you hold out, or fall back or what you think is the best option.

Other than that I kinda want you to make your app have a more detail, make a comment, explaining your style, 3 sentences do not cut it, It has very little detail. going to give a -0 until you answer to the best of your ability, people are going to judge you on these and see what makes you tick, patience, a keen eye, and clever thinking is are good traits, to have.

Wish you the best of luck on applying and answering questions.
Praise Feweh the true lord and savior! Grant us your godly Midi's.

First off, I would confirm why they refuse this order. I will put trust in marine's actions as they are the eyes on the ground and follow their gut instinct, which is usually correct. The most likely reason they would refuse is if the area they are ordered to push has too many aliens. I would attempt to find a working option around this, and order the marines into an empty nearby area to push from, so they can have an area to fall back to if the push is not successful.

I try not to involve MPs unless the situation is endangering lives, so I would not have him arrested. Plus, marines are doubtful of commanders when they order arrests for frugal reasons. I will give the interview over him and hope that he gives it a rest at some point or his SL talks to him after the briefing.

I'm going to assume that decent means that the population is around the same number of aliens. Defenses can be a hit or miss depending on the structures available and the types of aliens, but I do know that nexus holdouts almost never work for the marines due to their limited ammunitions and the aliens ability to go back for more health at any given moment. So, my route would really depend on how many angles the aliens are pushing. If it's the most basic "most aliens are pushing from one direction", I'd order the marines to play more aggressively, stick together, and push the aliens away from the attack at a gradual pace. If the aliens play smart and attack from multiple angles, I'd send a portion of the marines through an unprotected side to flank the aliens from behind, and get the marines at the Nexus to push their way out.

Thanks for the questions and I hope I've answered them to your impression, I apologize for my underwritten application but my strong point resides in action, not words. If anybody has any other questions they'd like answered to consider me, please ask away, because I need about 3 more votes and the deadlines in 3 or so days.

I'm a bit against the splitting them up since it could end very very badly for one half of the marine forces, gets my +1 for solid flanking tactic though.
