Kale 'Rooster' Enderly's Commander Application

Post by skhul » 05 Mar 2017, 04:47

Byond ID: Crusader777

Player name you use the most: Kale 'Rooster' Enderly

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link:

viewtopic.php?t=11259 | Job-ban Lifted

Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?

Absolutely.

Why should you be whitelisted?
After a lot of consideration and playing a multitude of command roles mostly XO, BO, and SL over the past couple months I decided too submit an application. I've seen a lot of commanders just give basic orders and assignments later sending everyone down. Especially before the application process was introduced which really took the roleplay out of the game since they had zero personality and would focus more on winning rather than pretending to be in someone elses shoes instead of acting accordingly to the several and random circumstances the round has to offer.

I've played dozens of games as XO with no CO around and I feel like I do a great job in making the round more interesting for others by handing out interesting assignments such as having marines collect and retrieve intelligence on the colony or employing experimental tactics in taking out the enemy. I've been able to man the entire bridge myself without BO's a few games and got some pretty nice victories.

I think one of my flaws is that I can be hesitant to act sometimes which I learned isn't the best way to go. Other than that if I ever become commander I will always be on my best performance and conduct. I will strive to make a round more lively and exciting whenever I can and no matter how little the effect can be. I don't know about you guys but I have always played CM for feeling immersed in the game and the randomness each round can have.

Feel free to ask any questions thank you.

Gonna be having a +1 for you in this. Played with you and Xur today, I can definitely say you're competent. And... Rooster, you're a fellow Febraurian birthday holder? :O

I personally like the way you lead, and I've seen you at XO plenty of times. +1, hope to see you as a Commander.

I liked you as a player, saw you a good XO and MP, can communicate very quickly, competent, give this man a promotion.

NOTE: After I saw you as a XO while I was SL..... that was terrible... I am going to change my vote... you just broke some marine law and pushes the marine to hard such like "RETREAT ISN'T AN CHOICE" After we have HEAVY wounded waiting at the LZ1.... we have defenseless FOB too.. I am going to have to change my vote... sorry man....

I'm sorry to hear that but perhaps retreat isn't a choice when two SL's are telling you to retreat for the past 30 minutes but somehow magically the nexus still manages to continue to endure for that long. Especially with Frankie "Knight" Day's squad Delta and Bravo being at almost full strength. While prematurely retreating might have saved more lives it makes no sense too me to leave defences at the FOB that have been spent so much time erecting to just leave at the start of an enemy attack wouldn't you agree? Also how hard should an acting commander push a marine? Your helpful advice could help me out in the future.

I am going to say this is true, I was Bravo Lead, and me and Frankie was the only smart SL out there till two idiot SL die.... but... you attempt murder though? Can you tell me what happen? I'll remain neutral now

Just a marine rushing people with a fire extinguisher for quite a bit rushing folks bashing them with it without any MP's around for a good while deciding he wanted to go after me. Well I pull out the telescopic baton and with one whack he gets a chest fracture. Never had to once used the thing and well I ended up having myself brigged compliantly and letting the situation resolve itself in IC. Mostly for keeping him out of the game for a good while. Looked up more information on the telescopic baton and apparently it causes fractures and can literally kill in 2-3 hits. Been playing for a long ass time but never knew that thin mechanical stick was capable of doing much of anything until I used it. Always saw it as a stun only item. Hope that clears up things for you.

By the way weren't you Alpha SL? I remember your name specifically being red when I was tuned in too all channels and using your camera in center nexus a lot after you and your specialist died around mid-game to watch the FOB. Perhaps there's a chance that I'm severely wrong however.

I said I was Bravo Lead... the one that sent out and deploy to restore the power at Engineering. I die by protecting west flank at FOB Nexus, it was poorly fortify and you thought it was strong to hold...

Huh interesting I wonder who was Alpha lead then. Still a little confusing I keep remembering him as you oh well perhaps I'm getting too old! Despite me possibly underestimating the nexus's defences I think it's fair to say we'll make bad judgment calls time to time and not every round will turn out well. I mean just a few days ago I learned from your example when you played XO and left the ship to be a field officer and broke a marine specific rule that a commander must be on the ship at all times! I'm sure it was a honest mistake and it tends to happen when we overlook things just like how I possibly did.

Let's not talk about that... clearly I have that one incompetent BO that causes me in trouble... that's stuff is OOC issues... I won that round as a XO though.

Oh I apologize I was merely using it as an example. But since you made a claim I think I should respond playing as a squad medic that game. I mean didn't you get yourself killed a few moments after touching down? Also you're not truly going to take credit for that win after breaking a marine rule and essentially having others clean up after you? Seems pretty IC too me. I remember you actually being a field XO again for another round luckily the next time with a CO present but the bridge being relatively understaffed. I'm sure you just overlooked this right now mistakes happen all the time.

Yes, I get what's your saying... everybody make mistakes. No one is the best CO/XO they are there to bond with the marines and lead toward victory.

In real life. Marines run into bullets. They are the first to respond in combat warfare. They do not scream at their Commanding Officer. Everybody make mistakes.

I like you as command staff, but I'm Frankie Day and must clarify this: I communicated multiple times that Delta squad that round was completely incompetent and had zero chance of doing anything.

With that out of the way, I'm going to see how you play in the future. I've liked you in the past, but that round really was quite bad. However, I'm easily willing to overlook it, since even the best commanders can't force players to listen or git gud.

If I may ask a little question, for the sake of satisfying my curiosity..

Lets say, for whatever reason, you decided to have briefing at 12:20. that is, starting at 12:04, about 16 minutes of free time. What would you do with said time?

Usually I'm preparing my speech and then making sure a MP is posted at requisitions and canteen/marine prep. I consider the personality I want my commander to take. Then I just tune in to all the 4 squad channels and have my BO's do the same or just have them on dedicated channels depending on how many I have.I spend some time looking at all the squads mostly to see how many engineers and corpsmen each one has. If nobody is at requisitions I'll start handing out attachments. I'll talk to a few folks in command and general channel and sort issues that come by. If the CL brings up something I make sure to include that in my speech and objectives if necessary. I usually trying to leave around 12:18 or a little earlier if I can. Thanks for the question.

I've decided to give my +1 in the vote, for what it's worth. Keep playing & improving, but I feel you're at the point where you've passed the bar for being a commander.

I think t'was I who was Alpha lead. If I remember correctly, weren't you XO that round, and had Alpha set up the FOB in hydro/medical? From what I recall, that round went to complete shit due to the bridge staff being arrested by MPs, and the squads having no command support for the first twenty minutes.

Late to the party but you got my +1, only issue with you is occasionally you become quiet while commanding,

But overall you're an ace candidate for the role.

These get processed when they get processed. I'm not your bitch and I have a real life job. It's been midterms last week and I've been not only grading, but also giving Midterms and preparing mid-term grade reports.

Don't be such an asshole.

Otherwise, I'm approving this and processing it now.
