Player name you use the most: Jonathan 'Smokes' Braddock

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link:
N/A

Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines? Yes I understand.

Why should you be whitelisted? I've played a few rounds as Commander before it became Whitelist, I feel I can bring solid roleplay to the position as I feel that's one of the things that matter as a Commander, I've done Squad Leader several times. Commander should care about their troops. I have communicated successfully with marines and know the ins and outs of the job, and understand that it's pretty much a thankless position but one that has a lot of responsibility. I've been around here off and on since November 2016.

If you have experience as an SL, then surely you have some experience leading a platoon's worth of men.

Although the role of a CO isn't quite as simple as an SL, since it requires a greater focus on tactical thinking and charisma, since you aren't expected to do a lotta pew pew up on the ship.

So, for you, a simple question.. How would you start a round as CO before briefing takes place?

I have myself, and B-Os if not otherwise occupied quickly go over the charts to figure out how many marines we have, what squads have what logistics (engineers, medics, etc.) Ensure each Squad Leader before the briefing is responding to the Command Radio, and then announce a time for brief. Specific squad placements and movements depends entirely on the logistics of the squads and manpower. Briefing time will depend on overall population of the Company, if high the more time to get marines adequately outfitted in a timely response to get them boarded upon the Rasputin and the Pod. Briefing is done from Alpha to Delta and it is done concisely and in a timely manner.

As a sidebar
However your efficiency as a Commander is only as effective as your subordinates. As a veteran of the U.S. Army, I feel that officers do have a mission to accomplish but however the Commander should, in good roleplay fashion have a obligation to insure the welfare of his marines. Brainless assaults when brittle numbers are present is ineffective, unless a productive counterattack can occur. I take Commander in a serious roleplaying light, Commanders shouldn't be screaming "REEEEE" over the radio, or things that further lead to the degeneracy of the setting, however only light to med roleplay. I've roleplayed for a lot of years, ran private RP Servers, on WoW and spent plenty of time on NWN 1 for my roleplaying platforms. Either way, I digress!

Well, sounds like you got a good enough idea, although I feel you could be a bit more productive pre-briefing.

I'ma give you a shot, since we could use more serious COs in the roster, those that understand their importance as well as how vital logistics is. Manpower alone can't win wars, after all.

You do seem to have experience being CO.

+1
I play Sydney 'Lilly' Wood, the totally not depressed doctor, And the marine Dylan Bell, that probably joined the USCM by accident.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions related to research.
