Linda Clark - Commander Application (Whitelist)

Post by Epic_Charger » 31 Jul 2017, 02:04

Byond ID: Epic_Charger

Player name you use the most: Linda Clark

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link:
Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?

But of course.

Why should you be whitelisted?

The goal, as it's said of the CO, is less about winning the game, and more about making the round interesting. As a base, the game is balanced a bit more in the favor of xenomorphs as it is.
As a CO, I'll focus more on actually making a rather fun RP experience, that is outside of the usual Colonial Marines round. I plan to try and shake up the usual laid out plans for the maps, as it create a bit more of a unique round, instead of fortifying the same place, all the time, on repeat.
Dead chat are players too. And I do plan to get them involved if RP situations allow me to. ERTs are great for getting players back into the game, and we all enjoy having the chance to join one. I'm much more likely to call an ERT or inform High Command that we require aid, some way to keep the round going instead of just sitting around waiting for xenos to come up on the DS.
The CL can prove to be an interesting antag on some cases, which, of course make a more interesting round. I plan to engage in RP regarding them to create a chance that interesting situations might occur as I have done before as XO.
I've got a decently wide experience on Colonial marines of all departments and roles. I've worked engineering, knew the old engine, know the new set up we use now. Medbay I can do the surgeries off mind now, and know the use of the most common drugs without needing a guide (I keep one up JUST incase I come across one I don't know, better safe than sorry.) MPs I've been before, and I make sure to keep an eye on the current up-to-date marine laws. Cargo I've handled, I know how the beacons work. And of course, I've been all of the squad roles quite a bit, I understand how things work on the planet itself decently.

Finally; I just always keep guide open when I take an important role. Even if I never look at them, on the SLIGHT chance that I find myself confused on something, I can quickly check the already opened guide, and tend to resolve my confusion rather quickly!

Ahh. Linda. Nice to see that they finally went for this. They are a great player, sensible and quite able to Roleplay. I never had a single bad experience with them really, and I always enjoyed them on my squad or any form of command really.

They have heavy experience on all sides of the playing board and I'd love to see them with a higher authority such as the CO position.

what do you do if you have to log out as commander

the application looks good, my only concern is that you mentioned doing in-depth RP with the CL. I've found that to be really difficult myself, especially if you want to excell at both, but no harm in trying.

if you can answer the question correctly I'll +1, and your name is vaguely familiar and not for any bad reasons so that's good!

Righto Noah.

So -IF- I have to cyro as a CO, I'll make sure to first make an announcement listing both the fact that I am cyroing, and who I'm placing in charge of the mission while I am out. (AKA, the new acting commander). Before cyroing I'll make sure the the XO is around and alive *provided there is one,* If not, it'll fall to one of the SOs. Whichever one being the most competent and willing for the round. If none exist, then it'll go down to following usual command order. IF, it just so happens, that I happen to be on a low population round, or the likes, and I have to go. If it's not urgent, I'll wait until another command role comes out of cyro to place them in charge before leaving. However; sometimes life is super busy, And stuff comes up. If I can't wait, I'll make an announcement immediately, and hand off charge to an MP, most likely. (That is only if there is like, none, of the other chain of command around, at all.)

As for the CL thing; what I meant is, if the CL engages me in a sort of RP, I'll try and give it good focus, as the CL can serve as a good point of making the round more interesting due to the fact sometimes W-Y can be an antag. I will of course handle all RP I can while still handling the troops, but what I mean is I'm more likely to engage in a RP with the CL over say an SO if I have limited time and need to get back to leading; this is because it's much more likely to make the round interesting for -everyone- if hostilities ar\rise, or if I make buddy buddies with the CL and get W-Y reinforcements. I'll do RP with all if I can, just more meant I'll prioritize it a tiny bit more over others!

And, with the addition of Ahelping to inform the admins (provided they are on at the time); that I'll be leaving. As CO is an important role to the game overall.

With the post after this a good answer, the ahelp was what I was most concerned about.

Yes RP for all is good, I was just mentioning that it might be tough. It'd be nice to see a more Weyland loyal (if that's what you're going for) CO, tho, and if not more CL RP never hurts anyone.

Heavy +1

Alright. I have seen that you obviously know how to commander, but there is ONE issue I have seen with the time when I saw you XO. You ehm... made a wall of text, and said it fast. Try to make it have description, but ehm... not a wall of text. And not only that, but you did it so quickly that even when we were not even to the middle of the wall, you said the next part. Give it a gap, and try to write less, heh. But good job for the rest! +1

Yeaaaah, one of my friends had mentioned that to me as well. I was sorta flaily on that since I had not played a command role for awhile. And yeah, pre-wrote it. I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Your name rings a bell, but honestly, I don't remember who you are at all. What time do you usually play on? (Or just say lowpop or highpop, much easier than converting time)

To Roland

I tend to play in the afternoon, around Arizona time (So times change a bit with daylight saving, as I do not actually use daylight saving time.) / / / *Around the later swap from High Pop to Low Pop*

That'd explain a lot, I mainly play at the middle/end of lowpow and the beginning/middle of highpop.
