Job bans I don't think I've ever had, but I've had a couple of three hour bans, two were for when i started playing and i suicided post round (before i learnt that was a no no) and one was for FFing two friendlies. If theres any others besides that that ive forgotten please feel free to update me staff.

This is also my first whitelist/staff app so i dont have anything like that to link.

Yes and fully agree with it. White list is responsibility not a right. They are often high impact roles on the game which is why they have whitelists and to abuse that power is breaking rule 0.1-2.

Do you understand how the Battlefield Execution functions?

Yes though honestly its not something i would make use of very often at all. Even a bad soldier is still one of the CO's men and a soldiers life is never completely worthless.

Do you understand you are not above Marine law, or allowed to enforce it yourself?

Of course. Noone is above the law (even if MPs sometimes think they are). But no seriously of course military law gets left to those who's role it is. Not only does a CO have enough on their plate but the WO and his men are there for a reason IC and OOCly. No need to take from players experience in a role when ive got my own job to do.

What do you think is the job of a Commander?

ICly, The CO should be someone who can be looked upto and depended on. Someone to lead the marines through hell and back whether its groundside or from CiC. They should be able to show marines that theyre a hardass that will walk through a gas cloud to BE a queen and save some unga but also be able to show them that they care and that theyre lives arent wasted.

OOCly a CO should be able to bring little interesting flairs to the game. whether via RP or non balance or game effecting changes to the game.

If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it?

Depends on what rank and how so. Im gonna cut my XO some more slack than id give a PFC or something. But beyond that games are almost never perfect smooth running OPs. Id hope and am pretty sure id be able to discern whether theyre disobeying for a reason or if theyre just being a punk. If its because my own orders have been bad for whatever reason or a miscommunication id start by talking to them and seeing why theyre doing so. If theres a good reason (i gave a command with lack of info etc) chances are id even commend them for covering my shortcomings. if theyre doing it because theyre just being ignorant and wanting to do their own thing id remind them to fall in line and warn that ill insub. If it continued id mark for insub or immediate arrest. If their not following orders started to effect other players id even consider ahelping them if i felt that they were risking not only the mission but the fun of the game itself

Why should you be whitelisted?

Hmm well i believe I'm a reasonably known player in most time zones (I play a fair amount) Also lowpop time for me is about 8pm onwards as im in NZ so i quite often play when command staff are badly needed. I believe i also have a good knowledge of game mechanics and I try to keep up with change logs and wiki changes. Besides that i think i could bring some nice ideas that ive seen and thought of myself to rounds to make them fresh and liven them up without changing game balance.

Thank you everyone for kind words and votes. Sorry for the late reply had stuff going on the last couple of days hence why I've been playing more minor roles.

And yea NethIafins i can be somewhat arrogant IC and OOC sometimes, Id hope it was part of mine and alices charm , but no hopefully not in anyway that seems overly bad though haha still good to know and keep an eye on even if its fine.

Your application certainly seems well enough. I don't have any specific memories that come to mind regarding this character name, but the name itself resonates a positive general feel from the experiences I've had. TO both have no negative memories and a good vibe makes you a flower in a desert on this server. Then again I could be completely jaded and not remembering right, so let's do what has yet to happen for your app and drop a hypothetical or two.

1: You awaken to a decently populated round about 30 minutes in. You have a full CIC staff, fully set Requisitions, but no Military Police force whatsoever. The first thing you hear as you exit Cryogenics is that there was a fight in the Requisition line between the Pyro and Scout. The Scout is dead and husked, with the Pyro in surgery for IB and several fractures. Both of their squads insist that the other started it. In the chaos of trying to figure this out, the XO has barely even put together a deployment plan, much less had Briefing. What does Commander Alice Falkner do for this?

2: Dialing back from that worst case scenario wake-up, let's talk mass murder. About 90 minutes into the operation, the ship rocks with the firing of an OB with an incendiary payload. You barely hear one Squad Leader say that the shot killed several aliens, including a 'gas spitter' and 'rhino', before hearing a Specialist screaming that most of his squad, including his SL, got husked in the flames. Looking into the matter shows that the Squad Leader that reported the confirmed kills gave the coordinates, but it's unclear if they'd confirmed for the shot to be fired. Who, if anyone, do you reprimand in this situation, and how do you handle it otherwise?

Novus for your questions:

1. First thing id do is make sure the fight has at least settled down from live firing (no pun intended), Trying to help if i can via Coms/Megaphone broadcast (assuming someone hasnt stolen it like 80% of the time happens) but keeping a far enough distance that the only thing that might hit me would be a stray bullet or something. assuming theres not still all out war happening id attend to briefing first apologizing to the marines for not only the wait but the fiasco of a show the specs had put on, giving a quick basic briefing to give static OBJ like multiple FOBs and such, perhaps putting the two good squads together on scouting with the other two on FOBs, partly as punishment and partly to try and keep them alive and static until i got to the bottom of the situation. After dismissing the marines id talk to any Req staff witnesses whilst asking my XO and SOs to oversee the initial drop. after collecting reqs statements id go see if the remaining spec was alive and get his side of the story. Based off witness reports and what the spec says id consider a BE but as i said in my app theyre not something im too keen on so itd probably only be if it was obvious griefing/being a dick with all evidence pointing to it. if it was a fight that got out of hand or something Then though sad a spec died and was completely lost im not going to lose yet another mission critical squad member over what should have been a reasonably fair fight. Id tell him to redeploy to his squad and avoid the other squad like the plague and that if a MP or WO woke up the case would be made official and be handed to them. After that id return to CiC and ask my XO if the initial drop had proceeded well, ask for a sitrep then write down the notes of the situation between the specs to be passed on if need be.

2. Trick question, OBs dont kill benos. KIdding haha. Hmm this is a more difficult one IMO dealing with more numbers and other vital roles so in someways can be just as worst case. Alot of the time when Im in command staff ill have all com channels open unless im having a private convo with someone, so theres a good chance id be able to see whether it was a clear fire order or not but assuming something along the lines of CL has wanted to speak to me and ive missed the OB call and just catch the tail end or something, Id Start by finding out if it was a defensive or offensive OB, If it was done to lead a push then id instantly order the push stopped and the marines to fall back and recover, though alot would already have done so after a bad OB theres always gonna be that half a squad thats already tapped unga prime. After that and the men were safe again id get onto the squad coms of the SL that called the OB coords and congratulate them on securing the kills but remind him and his SO that dire failures were made and that many good men and woman just gave their lives and most likely wont make it back for those kills. To be more sure in the future that all friendlies are clear and to make sure it wont happen again.

If it was a defensive OB then id order full retreat to the nearest safe area or FOB. Bar if its a failed lambda, Hydro-tfort/river, Etc. In my experience its very rare a defensive line will survive a bad OB. After the men were falling back towards safety continue with the discussion i said for a offensive failure, but with the added weight and anger of losing a defensive line as well.

End of the day i know incompetence happens. I also know sometimes things arent as "accidental" and id hope id be able to have the head about me to see and recognize those times, Ive only given ICly responses to your questions under the assumptions that neither situation is from direct griefing in which case you can usually tell griefers. Which if something was to happen because of obvious (and i mean obvious like troll name lighting up req line with a flamer) trolling then thats one time i wouldnt hesitate to BE on the spot before announcing why ICly and that id be contacting "High command" before ahelping as i usually would in a super griefy feeling situation.

I've seen you play SL plenty of times and I have a very positive consideration for you. You have just the right charisma and will to make for a good commander and I'm sure you'll exercise your rights responsibly and take the objective of leading the marines with dedication.

Though I want to see you giving it a try at CIC roles to get some first hand experience, mainly XO and even fill in as an SO. So that you get a feel for it.

Thanks i have been playing CiC alot more especially recently and mainly go for XO but i have to admit alot of the time its during the mid-low pop decline games (Getting into CiC at high pop can sometimes be just as luck based as spec) But ill certainly put some more rounds in during the day when i can.

I've played with Alice lots and I think they are a great SL! They lead by example on the ground and I highly respect that. She is also a great SO, and XO. I've seen them run CIC solo before and still manage to pull out that marine major! Easy +1 from me! Good luck leading all the unga's Alice!
