Rocco 'Blackhole' Ward CO Application

Post by Rocco Ward » 22 Jan 2017, 04:03

Byond ID: Tilus

Player name you use the most: Rocco 'Blackhole' Ward

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link: Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines? I am well aware.

Why should you be whitelisted?

I've been a frequent player of the server and been in many roles. In the past I have done CO, and done a pretty good job. I've received a bit of flak for unconventional methods and strategies, but they usually pay off with the results. I'll name a few memorable examples:

One round at the start I had a staff meeting with the researcher, BO's, and CMO. They came up with different theories about what went wrong on the planet. The CMO and researcher were convinced there was a viral or fungus virus of some sorts. (even possibly an amtos issue) So as a precaution, I told the marines at briefing that we were deploying a HAZMAT team suited up with internals, and biosuits to the planet to investigate. Of course, the marines didn't take the news too well. They rushed on the rasp, and launched it premature. This resulted in Bravo squad and their leader going rogue. Had to send MPs to the planet to capture the SL. The rest of bravo started attacking the other marines, I had to give amnesty to the rest of bravo to clear up the clusterfuck of FF going on and put it to rest.

Next round after that, admins were testing no cloning. I spawned as CO, and had a high RP meeting with the BOs, XO, and CL. We determined to have the SLs lay down their OBs prematurely at certain hotspots on the map. (in case the SLs manage to die before throwing their OB) This tactic worked out pretty good and was used to cover marines as they retreated from building to building. Also that round they turned IA dome and research into FOB's. Very unorthodox tactics but they were effective!

RP'ing is not one of my super-strong suits, but I'm decent and capable! Leadership roles are hard to handle, but the responsibilities are not taken lightly by myself.

Alright here now.... I've never seen you as XO/BO/CO. But that doesn't matter... here some question

Which type of FOB guy on Ice Colony are you?

Which type of FOB guy on LV-624 are you?

If there's a mutiny going and you only have one MP with you and your marines(40 of them) are losing the ground at the FOB stronghold but retreating anyways, what would you do?

While I'm more familiar with LV-624 than I am with Ice Colony, my choice of FOB's would be pretty typical unless there were unusual circumstances. FOB at engineering for Ice Colony, and FOB at Hydro/Medbay for LV-624. I'd have the marine set up mines on the flanks and turrets outside the entrances.

Your last question is a bit confusing and vague. Considering that the marines on the ground are at a critical moment in battle, I'd try to focus on that first and try to delay the mutiny either by welding the doors, tabling the entrances, or locking down the bridge. Hopefully by stalling the mutiny long enough, marines can regain momentum of the battle, and afterwards I'd handle the mutineers personally. If they have valid reasons, I'd step down peacefully, otherwise there would be a fight. I would not ask for marines to come back on board the Sulaco to defend against the mutiny, as they would probably have their hands full on the planet.

Ern, I don't think having an FoB as hydro upon landing is a legal move for the marines. The only reason they'd have to set up there is after they discover a heavy enemy presence there and need to adjust accordingly.

Just saying...

Not really. As long as you don't do stuff north of river, it's a perfectly valid tactic and one that is done by numerous CO's.
