Bjorn Sigvaldson's (Dubszor) CO Application

Post by Dubszor » 16 Feb 2018, 18:22

Byond ID: Dubszor

Player name you use the most: Bjorn Sigvaldson

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link: None in the last year. Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?

Yes.

Do you understand how the Battlefield Execution functions?

Yes. In my opinion, i will try to use the BE as little as possible. I think its better to let the MPs handle marine law matters, but if someone is costing a lot of marine lives, and they have no reason for it, then i'll be damned if that keeps going on

Do you understand you are not above Marine law, or allowed to enforce it yourself?

Yes, ive had to arrest a CO as a MP, and watched it happen a couple of times.

What do you think is the job of a Commander?

I think the job of the CO is to facilitate a roleplay IDEA, and do it in a fun/interesting way that allows BOTH the aliens and marines to have fun. I think the CO is a role that is supposed to make situations, make the marines feel like they are doing something REAL.

If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it?

  • If it were in a non-mission critical way, and i was free at the time, i would talk it over with them, and show them my reasons for what i am doing. If they have a better way, by all means, i would listen to them.

  • If it was during a mission critical time, i would ask the MP's to escort them to the brig for insubordination. I think the best way to run a Commanding Role is for me to let my staff have a input on how i do things, as five brains are better than one.

  • Now, if this was during a mission critical time, and their non-compliance was causing marine deaths, i would BE them. I would do that because, marine lives matter.
Why should you be whitelisted?

I wish to be whitelisted to bring a fresh air to the CO realm, as i have seen many do. They inspired me to show that, i also can do this. Truthfully, i've seen the distance between the command staff and the Marines, and i want to try to bridge this gap, to make the marines feel included on what the command staff wants. To make the marines feel like people, and not just tools.

Also, any criticism is welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

Have not seen you as XO much... may be me though
Good answers
You are extremely low on posts compared to your time here
I can not quote you on your command skills... right now

I am gonna have to stay neutral for now.

I will also be on a little bit, so I am looking for you as XO

I play as Monday "Scatter" Williams, he is the guy that takes no one seriously, except his good friend, his work.

I'm trying to get more time in as Command Staff, but my schedule has been erratic for awhile.

And yeah, i'm pretty low on posts. I know it doesn't do me and favors, but i'm a lurker. I'll try to get some more posts though.

I have played several Commander rounds with you as my subordinate recently, and I must say that while you seemed competent enough, I would definitely like to see more communication and intiative from you, and those are two things that are absolutely vital to the Commander role. You were rather average when compared to the rest of my command team. You certainly improved over time, but I think that a couple more months would do you good before taking on this hefty role.

Charlton 'Stiffy' Cavalet-I'm probably in the CIC (or CL's office), by choice or RNG, who knows.
9/19 Wins per rounds ratio as Commander
I also play as the synthetic named Lucien, and I am an ex-mentor.

Thanks for the input! I'll see what i can do to improve in the short-term. And yeah, i noticed some lack of communication too. I'll see about improving it.

Anyways, thanks for the input.

Haven't seen you too often in CIC as a member of the command staff. Answers are good but it would be more reassuring if I saw you in CIC much more often. Going to be giving a -1 for now, will change if you take what I said to heart.
