What do you think is the job of a Commander? The easy answer is to command, obviously. But more than that, the CO is necessary for dealing with whatever bullshit happens inside the Almayer and to coordenate the SOs (because, god forbid, they would communicate with each other). He also has the responsibility of devising the strategies followed by at least 80% of the force (there will always be rambos), so they have the responsibility of making sure that the marines win and come back alive. Of course, not all Commanders make good strategies, some even causing the death of the entire force, but he's SUPPOSED to be a good strategist.

If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it? Disobeyful CIC staff should be BEd if they don't change their mind. I don't see any reason to keep disobeyful staff in CIC, and there's no better way to show who's in power than to BE the insubordinate. Of course, BEing a XO for not announcing something at the exact minute your ordered it isn't right, but if the staff member is constantly disobeying orders, he should be BEd without any doubt.
As for other members of the crew disobeying orders, the MPs should deal with that. As a CO, I would only intervene when even the MPs can't contain the chaos. I'm also not a fan of those COs that keep showing off their matebas to make the marines scared, I'd like to think of it more like "if they forced me to unholster the mateba, it's my duty to use it on them".

Why should you be whitelisted?
I've been playing CM for a while and recently have been trying the command roles (been playing lots of XO and SL lately) so I don't get tired of ungaing around on the battlefield, and I would like to try out being a Commander, which I don't think would be much different than playing as XO. Plus, I plan getting other whitelists and CO is supposed to be the easiest one.

This is what I'm a bit hesitant about. You can simply demote people instead of removing them from the round. This isn't what BE is supposed to be used for. There are procedures and Military police for a reason.

Well we can talk about what you have going for you, a well known player, decent SL player. A decent roleplayer if we are counting your CL rounds.

The only thing that isn't going to give you this +1 right away is the shitty formatting and while I appreciate I do appreciate honesty, Your answers to the BE question. You can't just whip out the big iron lightly. Now I've had my fair share of BE's as you most likely know, And you should know that there are other alternatives to BE's.

So let me see some more activity and perhaps a change in your playstyle and I can give you a +1.

Considering your given history of low roleplay according to the appeal logs, I am already hesitant with this...until I got to your response about insubordination. Your CIC officers are your first source of advisory when it comes to what you do. It's not always a bad thing to hear them out, and even if they don't make sense, there's no reason to not call for an arrest as you would with others. I've also literally never seen you, but timezones are a thing.

Alright, thanks for the replies.
Seems there's some concern on BE, and I think it's valid, people don't like COs that BE at any chance. I guess what I meant is that, in a situation where a CIC staff member is plainly acting against my orders, almost like a one man mutiny, I believe a BE is necessary, but at such point it would be sedition in marine law and an execution would probably happen anyways. But I would not, for instance, BE a SO that went planetside without telling anyone and such.
As for roleplay, I may not always act like a behaved marine when I play PFC and such, and to be honest you eventually get bored of "yes sir, no sir", but I don't think this is LRP really. After all, marines aren't gentlemen, they're hired killers, specially the Almayer bunch, and I tend to act like such. Plus, this kind of RP is mostly limited to when I play as marine. When I play as Liason, SO or XO (though I've played liason way less lately), I tend to act more rationally. I guess it's difficult to judge someone's RP ability when they use the same character for different roles, though.
Anyways, I play CIC time to time, plus I've been just starting to play as SL so I guess that counts. But if you feel that I should play more CIC, no matter, there's no hurry.

Your RP fluctuates and you generally seem like a great CL however this doesn't exactly translate into how you'll behave in a Command role and the associated RP. I also don't remember ever seeing you in a Command role once and this is a major issue in my POV. I can't really base a positive opinion on you with only pure CL based RP and acts.

I agree with you on how if you are going to pull the mateba it shouldn't be willy nilly, but at the same time I disagree with the looser justification of BEs you are approving.

The application as a whole also feels a little weak.

Prolly won't get accepted as I've kinda stopped playing command lately, but I'm fine with that I guess, don't see much sense in getting CO whitelisted if I ain't in the mood for playing CIC. If any staff member wants to give their final veredict prematurely to close this app, please do.
