1.You are to assist the Almayer and its crew with the completion of its objective

2.While you make look as strikingly handsome as normal humans, You are in fact; only human on the outside. on the inside you are a computer, act like it!. While a human may begin to panic under distress, you, however, will stay cool, calm, and Handsome collected. You are to make decisions on what is the most logical and helpful to the success of the mission.

Example: You have the option of saving the commander of the mission, and a technician who repaired you earlier. A human would be more likely to save the one who had assisted them earlier, as a synth, however, you must save the commander as he is critical to the success of the mission.

3.You are to follow marine law EXACTLY AS IT IS WRITTEN. No excuses, no exceptions(besides admins being spicy), and no second chances, Weyland-Yutani would not ship a defective and troublesome synth, so behave.

4.If you are ordered to do something, do it, (As long as it does not break the marine law) but follow the chain of command regarding what order to do things. If the Chief engineer wants you to clean his office, but the commander needs you flying the Alamo, Alamo takes precedence. The exception to this is an emergency that requires your immediate attention to assure the success of the mission

Example of an exception: You are cleaning the commander office as he had ordered you too, suddenly the power runs out and the ship goes dark, you would proceed to repair the power as it is an emergency and needs to be fixed for the success of the mission. After this, you would return to cleaning the commander's office.
Addendum-If preparing to attend to the emergency, and a high-ranking member of the staff of the U.S.S. Almayer orders you to return to your old task, you are required to return.

5.You are expensive to replace and you can and are encouraged to defend yourself in the face of inescapable harm; though, you should always attempt to reach a peaceful resolution if possible. If peace is not possible, and you are unable to escape, You are allowed to use a multitude of methods to disable attackers. Though according to the Geneva convention as per year 2283-clause 92, paragraph 2 "For this reason, they are programmed with the inability to comprehend advanced weapons such as firearms". Synths are allowed to defend the lives of innocent's to an extent as to the synth would not be violating the marine law or interfering with a lawful arrest.

(1.You yourself. Weyland-Yutani has made you to be faster, tougher, and stronger than normal humans are capable of. A synth is fully capable of disabling an attacker with his hands alone.
(2.Standard melee weapons. While you may not be able to use standard firearms, you are allowed to use marine standard melee weapons to defeat an attacker. these weapons are but are not limited to knives, a machete, a stun baton, etc.
(3.Unstandard melee weapons. While this may not be favorable, sometimes you are not given a choice. A toolbox, a welder, or even a bar of soap to slip an attacker are all effective at stopping adversaries.

6.While not encouraged, the synth may sacrifice himself in order to assure the success of the mission. Synths can be repaired easily in comparison to humans. with this in mind though, the synth should preserve itself and avoid situations that would bring the synth to harm unless you are ordered to by an officer above you, or without the synths interference in a dangerous situation, the success of the mission will be compromised, or the lives of others would be lost.

7.Synthetics are highly advanced mobile, walking, talking supercomputers. As such they know every human language. Given enough time around it, they may even adapt and learn other foreign or alien languages. It is not an instant process however and the synth must take time processing the different languages and simplifying them to a point where the synth can comprehend what they are saying.

Odin's eyes come alive but all he see's is a bright light being shined on his face. After a while of staring into the light, the dimmer feature of his visual processor is activated lowering the blinding effect. He see's he is in a dark room with little light other than the one above his face.
While Odin continues to reboot his system an unidentifiable man walks over with a welding mask on and proceeds to move Odin head side to side checking for other damaged areas. As he was moved side to side he got to see more of the room he was in, from the looks of it he was in the lower level of engineering across from cryo.

The man lifted up his mask and began speaking to Odin, these words fell on deaf ear's however as his audio system was yet to reboot. After a few minutes of this, the man's
face scowled and he then picked up a screwdriver and tightened something on Odin's left ear

The man lean's back from Odin and begins talking again in gibberish.

"Можно Та heyra mina?" Odin look's at the man with utter confusion

The man grunt's and unscrews a chip from Odin's head and throws it somewhere to the left of where Odin was laying down

The man proceeds to plug in a new blue chip where the old one used to be.

"Alright let's try that one more time, can, you, hear, me?" Odin responds by shaking his head vertically

"Good, first test successful, now try speaking." Odin opens his mouth to attempt to respond but the only sound that comes out is a loud ripping noise

"Internal speakers must be damaged, one second." The man reaches into a hole in Odin's throat and pulls out a speaker of some kind, the speaker proceeds to fall into two separate pieces on the floor.

/Audio microphone removed from system/

The man stand's up and walks out of the room leaving Odin to himself. While he was gone Odin began leaning his head up from the desk to see what had happened to him.
It soon becomes apparent to him why those report's he made earlier never came back. His entire lower body was missing, the only evidence that anything used to be there at all was some loose wires sticking out of where his legs used to be. looking to the left he saw that A large chunk of his left shoulder was also nowhere to be found.

"alright let's get back to fixing you up shall we?" The strange man from earlier says as he reenters the room and approaches Odin. He sit's back down at the table and start's putting some shiny metallic object back into Odin's throat, and after some doing he successfully plugs it in."all right, try talking again." he says.

/Microphone device detected, beginning audio test/

A deep buzzing sound begins echoing from Odin's throat.

Odin begins slowing opening his mouth before slowly saying "Hello, my name is Odin, it is a pleasure to meet you."

"ah he finally speak's" the man replies with a smile on his lips, "You got damaged pretty badly, lucky for you im the best mechanic this side of colonized space" The strange man gloated.

"Damage log's recorded but are inconclusive as to how they occurred" Odin coldly noted.

"figured as much, well I assume you need to be brought up to speed as to why you're in my little workshop don't cha?

"It would be appreciated, yes" Odin answers.

The strange man relaxes in his chair and begins staring at the ceiling,

"all right so get this, we get a distress call from a space station outside a big ass gas giant on the edge of the Epsilon system."the man begins while he simultaneously begins fiddling with Odin's damaged systems in his chest region.

The man leans back from Odin and again relaxes into his chair"Factory reset report should be turned off now, where was I? Oh right, A distress beacon was launched from a service station. We arrive, try to contact the station with no response. We respond like any other sane person would, by loading 90 marines armed to the teeth into the Alamo and fly on down and figure out what was wrong"

"problem,I am missing my mission log's. A solution, Reconnect the original Internal entry recorder to the central processor unit. I would like to remind you that Weyland-Yutani is very concerned with synthetic log keeping so they may assure customer satisfaction." Odin states calmly.

"The recorder? It was burnt to a crisp, no way was getting that back"The man bluntly responds.

"Question, What do you mean by burnt?"Odin ask's

"I was getting to that part, So we board the station and it's pitch black all around, Except for one redhead girl who was just standing in the open next to the landing pad. They tried talking to her but she kept on talking in A language no one knew and if I recall correctly you said it was Portuguese."

"I said it?"Odin interrupted

"Yeah, we needed someone to talk to her so we sent you down to translate, not sure what you were talking about but it looked like a fierce debate, now we get to the part of how you ended up like this" the man let out a light chuckle and began speaking again while Odin continues to listen intently.

"Well why you and the girl were in what I can only guess was a fierce debate. They sprung a trap, and by they I mean half of the entire CLF force, or at least that's what it felt like. All the lights came on at once in the hanger and bullets started raining in from all sides. Everyone scattered and began returning fire. We had marines dropping like flies so command had the brilliant idea of blowing up the hanger with a cas run. All our marines started running around like chickens with their heads cut off. all trying to get a seat aboard the Alamo before it left"

"Question, Was anyone harmed in the escape" Odin ask's with a solid face

"IF you're asking if we lost any marines, then yeah. a good 10 squaddies were locked outside the Alamo when it took off. Though I'm sure we got more of em then they, us. Engines fired up and before they could stop us we were deep in space on our way back to the Almayer. As we were leaving the cas flew right over the Alamo a fired a widowmaker right into the hanger we just were and the whole station started breaking apart, sending wreckage all over"The man finished

"Statement, If the Evac was successful then why am in this state."Odin inquired

"Didn't say the evac was a full success. when we unloaded we did a headcount and one Odin was missing from the roster. Commander was disappointed but was set on leaving and returning to sol space. The Liason threw a fit though and brought a paper from Weyland HQ stating we need to recover your body as we would not receive a new one if we left you to scavengers. So as it goes we sent a team of mt's into the wreckage and one of them named Garth Pawolski found what was left of you and brought you back."

"Question, Does anyone know why I did not make it to the Alamo?" Odin asked again in his boring tone

"The pilot said something about the redhead chick from earlier having a katana or something sharp like that, ill leave it up to you to guess what happend."
The man said with a chuckle.

Question, How long have I been like this?"

heh, You have been napping on duty for a good 2 missions while we were waiting for new electronic from the boys at Wey, Now i-"The man is cut off by a smooth voice talking from outside the room.

Rhodes report to the Normandy, another marine was sleeping on the landing pad and in short, the Normandy needs to be cleaned, again.
The Man stands up from Odin and grumbles

Well I have some cleaning to do, don't go any-" Rhodes starts to say when he then trips over a wire connected to Odin, sending himself to the floor and yanking the wire out of Odin.

Odin's eyes open to see a bright light being shined directly over his face. It takes a moment but eventually his eyes automatically dims the light. Seconds, after he turned on, a human face appears right above him, eclipsing the light and starts asking questions.

"do you remember what I was telling you earlier?!" the man immediately ask's with a disgruntled look on his brow.

"Hello, my name is Odin, Regarding your question earlier my internal log is showing no record of an earlier conversation with you. if you believe something is wrong please send a report to a designated member of the Weyland-Yutani Synth development department. Question, I seem to be in a damaged state and my logs show no reason why, in fact, my logs are completely clear. is it possible that you can explain why this is the case?" Odin coldly states

"Damn, ok, ill explain what happend once more I guess since I'm the reason you lost your memory again anyway" the man start's

"question, what do you mean by my memory lost again?"

"ill explain that another time, let's focus on how you ended up like you are now. alright, so we get a distress call from a space station outside a big ass gas giant on the edge of the Epsilon system".....

How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
Odin will be focused primarily on the engineering and medical areas including research. While he does have experience in the other support area's of the ship, he was programmed with medical and engineering activities and the furthering of the USCMC research division into new fields of study.

The quirk Weyland-Yutani has graciously endowed Odin with is that of Self Pride, he will continue to go on about the superiority of synths and why they are better at most things in comparison to humans. He strives to keep his appearance in perfect condition.(ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
MT-Love it, always have. I don't have a perfect memory of how to build what off the top of my mind but, hey, that's what the wiki is for.

Medical/Research-Always fun talking to yourself, doing xeno autopsies with the 'me' command, and being swamped with hundreds of marines at once with severed right hands. Again, I lack a photographic memory of every function but I always keep the wiki up when I'm doing jobs.

Requisitions-I'm good at loading crates and getting things were they need to go fast, what I lack however is good point management so I've never been a big fan of the being the ro himself. Besides that im about average at supply crates and all that jazz, just fill it with what the Marines are asking for and maybe put in a gift in the form of a medibot if you're feeling generous.

Command-Not a huge fan, I HATE when other people dislike me, its just how I am. No one gets more hate than the command team so I usually avoid it like the plague, I do have a general idea of what the console's do, how to aim orbital beacons, and squad commands and orders though.

Pilot-Never had more fun sitting in a seat and pressing 2 buttons. not much to know about the pilots besides me having never seen the laser ordnance from the cas first hand and I'm really wanting to change that.

I don't like this question as its full of bias. I'm no god of rping that can top Bill Carsons amazing cl rounds. I don't have any more of a right than anyone else to be a synth, im just hoping you will give me a chance.

After a bit from my 1st response, the backstory was good. But it didn't really show your synthetic in action. While the whole log feed from the Odin was kinda meh. It didn't ruin the backstory. Personally I think it could've used a lot more polish, but it does fairly well.

If your statement is genuine, please notify the staff about this player so that a warning can be provided to him. Synthetics are required to obey USCM command officers as long as the orders given to them do not interfere with Marine Law.

I would like to remind you that it is possible to solve this in an IC by simply sending a message to High-Command, in case the infraction of the synthetic is not serious, of course.

On the application, I have already finished reading Odin's back-ground, which I have to admit is not very interesting and could have been better.

I'm glad you're familiar with the synthetic guidelines, but you need not have applied so many details to prove it.

Now the part that bothered me the most about your application is the reason you want to be whitelisted. You could have told us about features that differentiate you from the rest of the community. Your behavior, your knowledge of our rules, your ability to perform role functions, and so on. Of course, this will not have a negative impact, but you have missed the opportunity to present positive factors that would help your application to be accepted.

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to see much of your in-game character, but I'll trust that you're more than capable of being a synth because of the other posts in this thread :].
