Sat operating table in OR3 is a familiar marine; at least among the medical staff. Private First Class John Murry, or Spartan if your armor trimming is royal blue. Doctors are busy creating chemicals for the ever demanding medics, sating their wanton desires for niche mixes of potent blends. Quickclot pills are in high demand, and Professor Kane Laborde is busying himself making the cryomix just right. A helpful synthetic was authorized permission to deal with the already wounded war hero.
An ever cheerful Emma simply smiles with clipboard in hand, only for show to make the patient more comfortable, synthetics only need to read something once. "Head trauma? So soon before deployment, what have I told you about disregarding uniform regulation?"
Murry's response is a stoic fit of laughter, gloved fingers scratching his beard. "Mines got kevlar in it." John was playing his joke straight faced, solid like a rock, the winner of plenty of poker hands in R&R.
No response from the synthetic other than a simple patient smile, reaching into her lifesaver bag to produce an advanced trauma kit, the latest in medical research, Wey-Land Yutani always had a way to frontier something. Nanocoagulants seek the bruise suturing a paperthin cut, it stings. But Murry's stone face is unshifting. Bruising powder over the darkening skin. "If you're going to refuse to wear a helmet, Murry, at least let someone else be the hero."
Hours pass, the operation escalates into a full on military conflict between aggressive UPP forces seeking to claim a natural resource underneath a Weyland Yutani colony. Holding it's compound as a fortification against the USCM assault. The ground battle is slow, every inch is paid for in blood, and sacrifice. Delta's Fireteam is at the front line suppressing the barricades in hopes for a hail mary. Or a hail Murry. Pulse rifles laying down a thick cloud of caseless munitions Murry is tasked with one job. Plant this orbital beacon on their fortifications. Our stalwart marine is never one to back down from a challenge. Crossing over with the rolling thunder of rifles, Murry zigs, zags, executes combat rolls and lunges. Bullets biting into him, his green headband now a crimson red. Fighting through the pain, the beacon is armed. Anchors bolted, transmitting it's location to unleash hell from above. Everything goes black, he did his duty.
Delta staple, Kyomi Sin'va calls out to medical. Battle fatigued, exhausted with a broken body on a stretcher, "I got critical!" The spark of life forced back into Murry's battered shell, vitals low. Emma is the first to respond with calmed efficiency. Programmed. Hardwired calculation to work in high-stress situations without faltering hands. The white haired medic follows along with their patient, and friend. Whisking the wounded off to OR2. Thoroughly versed in the human anatomy, all that's needed is the scan of a health analyzer. Reading out: Secured skull fracture, internal bleeding, severe concussion. !! BLOOD LEVEL: CRITICAL !! Heart valve: Compromised.
Defibrillation wasn't an option with a heart this damaged.
No time for anesthetics. There's a UPP docking squad, and their first stop is always medbay.
Murry's waking body is barely cognitive, higher functions returning with each second -- the searing pain of an incision management system working through skin preforming three tasks at once. The burning clip of a hemostat, the cutting knife of a scalpel, then all of it being clamped open. The tone of Emma was calm, calculating, "Murry you are doing fantastic, steady your breathing. Focus off the pain." Corporal Sin'vah kept a steady supply of autoinjectors puncturing the wounded Private. Each injection expending itself with an airy hssss.
Bicardine, Tricordozine, Iron, Tramadol, Oxycodone. The mix of refusing to let a heart stop beating.
The operation is a labored success, a painful, messy success. Blood traded in and out of the body, chemicals mixing together in a human like a melting pot. Kyomi, and the synthetic help the grunt to his feet. Battered, sore. The two limping off, and the airlock opens. Outside waiting with bated breath is a friendly face. Adan Howard, as if all of Delta was a family, a brotherhood. The trio limping off, they had an operation to finish. With Emma left to treat the next patient, a calm smile on her face.
Due to the hands of programmed perfection, a critical marine returns to the front of the battlefield. Anything is possible when you are hardwired to defy failure, it is simply not an option.

Combat has long since ended. The Commander has issued a request for an after action report on all known surgeries, squads, and their performance, they all preformed so well - surely those few I saw will be rewarded for their struggles.
"Delta Squad maintained heavy casualties during the operation, Commander. At one point the squad was risking routing when their units dipped below standard losses at a critical 38% combat readiness." I suppose, the Commander should see reason they were the first to encounter the contacts.
"They should have done better. If they followed my command strictly to the letter, none of them would be dead."
A sensation I've never felt before, is this sadness? They fought so hard, they gave up so much. "They'll do better next time, Commander. I'm sure your guidance will put them into proper shape."
"Of course it will! I know how exactly how to do it. I'll take away their attachments. Their nicotine. Helmets will be mandatory. All infractions will be maximum sentences. I must be strict on these monkeys."
He's projecting insecurities, he sees their failures as his own and he's afraid. He can't be seen as weak, but this course of action will hinder combat efficiency significantly. A compromise is needed, "Might I suggest an alternative? Mandatory physical training through the ship. This will build camaraderie, and familiarity in their shared strain, along with the physical benefits of cardiovascular exercise."
His stance has shifted, he's thinking about it. His eyebrows always furrow when he's contemplating something.
"Very well, I'll have the Staff Officers write up their new routine."
"Wise as always, Commander."

Emma's functions, and quirks around the NCO's, and below, will be the eternal optimist. Programmed to keep morale high as their ability allows, either through humor, or offering a positive perspective. Giving marines words of encouragement, helpful advice, potential alternatives. Using simple psychology tricks, reminding them of their 'potential.' Or how their actions will benefit, and save those familiar to them. Whilst saving the grim realities for the Command Staff/ aCO.
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO):
I've been a mentor for what feels like a life time, I keep up to date on all our mechanical changes through manual immersion. I've got a fairly firm grasp on the various roles I'll be expected to be efficient with.
Why should we whitelist you?
I've never specifically had an interest in the whitelisted roles. I don't think I have the personality or desire to play a Commander effectively, and push the round with that much influence. Or the desire to play a predator, and apply the subtle, or overt force of nature that they can often be. But for Synthetic, it feels like the perfect foil. I enjoy supporting others, and supplementing their roleplay. Whether it's a Commander, or a stressed out Doctor needing help. I'd feel this is my strength, and I'd help enrich the games environment. I might not always come across as the most serious of players, but when there's roleplay given I sink my teeth into it like I'm starved for it. My favorite role by far is the Corporate Liaison, followed by Medic. Both of these cater to roleplaying, and knowing an always changing system. tl;dr I want to take my mentoring to the next level. IC with that sweet, sweet roleplay.
