Ross
A single light illuminating a dark room. In the center stands a cheery looking slightly rotund man, A smile creases his face as he grins into the darkness. "Hi nice to meet you all", He says "I am Artificial persons MK1-R022." Somewhere from within the shadows a small whine starts up as lights slowly decend into the room. Dull ones that cast a pleasant light but plenty of shadows seem to highlight the synthetic more. "What are youre skills?" a voice barks out. "Why anything sir, Though i have a penchant for surgery and other medical tasks I can fulfill a wide variety of tasks in all fields. I am familiar with all forms of engieneering and can operate and fly any vessel upto one hundred million metric tonnes in size through astrofields and advance gravity wells. I am also familiar in civil and military law." Standing in silence for a moment observing the dark while voices whispered in the shadows another voice soon called out "Alright we will call you shortly." Starting to turn away but stopping suddenly the synthetic Said with a chuckle "Well now thats a silly name if you dont mind sir. I mean imagine shortly as a name. Call me ross." Before stepping into the shadows himself with a wide grin on his face. "Did he just...." said the first voice before the second quickly interjected with "Dad jokes. Yes. As bad as they were two hundred years ago."
Six months later.
Activating from recharging Ross quickly slid into action his movements quick and assured. The ship had just started wake up sub-routines for the marines and there were things to be done. Preparing for the operation ahead quickly he proceeded to move through the dimly lit halls of the alymayer to engieneering. He only needed to get a few reactors running for now until the MTs woke. Working quickly he gets enough power flowing to run the cryo subroutines before moving towards medbay. Moving slower now he takes a quick glance through the soon to be bustling halls observing the homely feel of the old halls. Reaching medbay he breaths in deeply the crisp air giving his olfactory sensors the smell of stale ammonia and other sterility products. Smiling he chuckles to himself remarking "People will be trading an arm and a leg to get in here soon." before turning the APC on to charge. Going about various small tasks as the lights grow brighter until the dim halls are lit almost as if synchronised he found himself standing in cryo observing the soon to be waking marines as the vents started creaking with old fans and scrubbers starting up blasting cold air unfelt by ross. Watching as the first pods slowly hissed open and marines woke and started shuffling off one remarked about how cold the floors were and how they wondered if command chilled the place on purpose.
Twenty minutes later he found himself standing next to his Captain in the briefing command bubble. The marines were being rowdy and at the back a delta and charlie were getting ready to come to blows over some stolen something a rather. Seeing no police staff near, ross whispered to the captain asking "Captain Wilkerson sir would you like me to settle the two boistrous marines?" Giving a curt nod ross seemed to almost disappear sliding between the gathered marines. "Halt cease and desist!" rang out across the briefing hall. Startled marines stepped aside as Ross slid between them. Seeing the deltawith the charlie in a headlock merely look up and say "Fuck off synth This dont concern you." A twinge of what almost seemed to be pity crossed his face "The poor lad dosent even have boots on now let him go before this escalates further than needed" is all thats returned calmly. Kicking the charlies legs out from underneath him and lifting using his neck as leverage the delta throws them heavily to the ground with a loud crunch and a scream. "That was... Unnecessary" Ross says with a suddenly blank face his fatherly smile gone completely "I will give you one chance to lay on the ground face down and allow yourself to be brigged." Snorting a thick phglem ball into the back of his throat the delta all of a sudden found himself looking up at the lights above and the staring shocked face surrounding him. Before he can react he found his hands bound together by cuffs and dragged to his feet. "There you are my lad" A familiar smile returns to the synths face "Now off you go with the MPs and serve your time I appear to have work to do."
Minutes later Ross is strapping the charlie to an operating theaters table, Quickly jabbing the marine with oxycodone while his free hand works the gas mask before skillfully and mechanically opening incisions on the marines chest and neck. The throw had left the marine with torn neck ligaments and a ruptured artery and a broken rib protruding through his lung so time was of the essence. Placing the IMS on the tray he quickly pulls out a bonesaw and retractor opening the chest cavity quickly. Seeing the damage had extended beyond what the initial scan had said, Most likely from the bone moving in his chest, a jet of blood splashs his uniform from another ruptured artery. A minor split but still not something to leave open.Working with the fix-O-vein quickly he repairs the destroyed arterys before setting to work on the lung. Pulling the long rib from the marines chest he noted that there was a sliver missing. "I have a bone to pick with this guy" Ross says to noone in particular grinning. Digging around with the hemostat he quickly pulls out the final shard no longer that a small childs nail. Closing and sealing the wounded lung and neck he notes that the marine has liver damage so repairs that too. Finishing up the operation he closes and seals the marines ribs and chest before removing his mask. "ROSS CIC NOW!" he hears over the command channel "Youre on overwatch today!" Moving with a start ross leaves the marines in the capable doctors hands before continuing his day.A simple operation, his first ever followed. He performed to his best ability and did not fail the USCM, when the marines needed supplies, he dropped the pods. When a PO fell to wounds from a UPP sniper he acted in thier stead while the doctors worked, Making sure medvac was constantly rolling. The day ended in a major victory with only one casulty and as the marines were climbing into thier cryochambers once more he watched over them a fond fathery smile over his round face.
How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
Medical is Ross's preferred and most skilled area. Though as a synth he can fulfill all roles its the role i know through and through with near enough no wiki work (Only for a few chems etc). Engineering I'm much the same just slower and very occasionally need the wiki (machine/computer building). The quirk as you can see in the story. Dad jokes. Every chance and even sometimes when it'll make people say "wait what". Nothing too obtuse and never offensive. He's a very fatherly figure, abit rounder than most synths with a broad warm smile that peers through his synthetic woodsman beard. (Assuming a bearded synth is ok i know its not common or even really heard of). He treats all humans almost like his children. Until his military law protocols kick in then he's straight business. No jokes, No smile, Just nazi bot minus the racism.
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
Very familiar. I know medical through and through in all aspects from groundside medic to surgery. Chems as i said i can be iffy on occasionally but can do them given time. engineering i'm good with. Im a bravo main so have spent more than my fair share of rounds at FOB building, with and without supplies.
Why should we whitelist you?
I think i would make a good synth player because i've been around on the server for quite sometime and have had and played CO and predator white lists for sometime now with no issue. I know game mechanics and tactics well (FOB and such) and look forward to the RP possible from this role. Beyond that i know i wouldn't misuse my synthetic status and would do my best to serve the Alymayer.
