Desert Dam Dev Q&A

Post by Emeraldblood » 04 Dec 2018, 15:45

For dev related questions only!
If you do want to just throw out thanks or compliments to the devs, I won't stop you but we do have a general player forum for normal discussion.

If you have any bugs to submit, post them here.
For all general discussion about the new map, a forum is already set up here or you can make your own.

A short list of credits for who helped do what part of the map:

Spriting: Nicboone | Ribbonflex
Original Map Creator: Ribbonflex
Additional Map editors: Ravingmaniac | Awan | Cakey
Coding: Ravingmaniac (water filtration) | Chowder Mcarthor | Awan | NethIafins | Spookydonut

And thanks to all CM past and present devs for their hard work at creating this map, big or small!

This thread will unlock once the round is over.
Ban Appeal Users: If I've lifted your perma ban and you're still unable to log onto the server, send me a forum PM regarding it and I'll work to get it fixed in ~24 hours.

Emerald Blood: CM's mommy and the only head staff who does anything. Even though I hate you all sometimes, I still love you.

It is not boiling water. The water also gets filtered not cooled down. So no.

Is it possible to break the filtration system and 'unfilter' the water?
When the OB misfires and xenos are on your doorstep.

It might stop if it loses power but for all else, it will keep going.
Anything that is filtered will remain filtered.

What exactly is being filtered out of the water that causes spontaneous not-alive in humans?

Genuine curiosity.

Also any plans to redesign the LZs? They're nice, but they're extremely difficult to secure and defend without prodigious investment of manpower and resources, which in our current style of round progression is likely to cause defeat.

We left that open. It is ill-defined but it is caustic. It is not the temp of the water that burns that much but the chemicals and such in it.
So far the lz's are on the list of stuff to look at but it is an alpha version of the map.

Currently not afaik. We removed the wiki map and will test again this Saturday.
We had the map up during the test.
