Stop Eternal Paincrit of the Guardless Host

Post by Surrealistik » 02 Dec 2016, 15:01

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Stop effortless infect + paincrit methods of subduing marines.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Forces the Xenos to commit manpower to guarding gestating hosts instead of putting them into an EZ/effortless eternal paincrit that obviates any chance of escape without having to do so.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Two possibilities (or both):

#1: After a certain number of ticks while in Paincrit, a human gains cumulative halloss/pain resistance/traumatic shock reduction until no longer in paincrit, becoming used to the pain.

#2: Each tick while in paincrit, a human has a cumulatively increasing chance of getting 5U of pain and stun reducing Adrenaline until no longer in paincrit.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

Coding.

'rine buff that'll make all 'rines near-impossible to capture, with no downside.

Counter-suggestion. Every time a 'rine is nested, the nest shoots em up with 10u of tricord (To keep the host alive... or something like that). Marines'll get a chance to get outta paincrit (No slashing nested, remember?), and ayys'll have a better way to deal with HORRIBLY injured 'rines.

If you leave a marine guardless, thats xenos fault and should be the consequence, if you can't bother to have one runner/sentinel/hunter/spitter just guard a few hosts, then thats not marines problem, neither does it make them near-impossible to capture

One time i was playing B18 and was captured, the hunters thought 'oh hes in paincrit' and left me alone with a drone. I then proceeded to kill 6-5 aliens with my shotgun till a ravenger killed me.

Honestly if a Sentinel was ontop of me and guarding me they would have not lost so many xenos and larva.

Not to mention this shows that xenos assume paincrit is the way to go for guarding a host.

This is actualy a good idea, it will solve the main problem too, +1

I think that being nested should heal you over time, Or atleast being unconcious should. Too many times the ayys realize I'm in paincrit and just walk off because theres no possible way to recover.

I've never NOT been guarded while nested, and when I break free from nesting and can't move due to paincrit, xeno just re-nest me and keep sitting there watching me like some kind of strange fetishist.

What do you mean it'll make all marines near impossible to capture? All it means is that you actually have to commit aliens to guarding them, instead of effortless, skilless permanent incapacitation that costs you nothing and affords the marines no chance for escape short of external intervention.
