If it's going to auto-load the shotgun for it, it's going to be the equivalent of a backpack I think. And I'm thinking of making it so you can click the shotgun with the box, and enter a "loading" state, where your can't move, but it loads the shells.

Well I had the idea that instead there would be a pile of shells and you just click the shotgun in hand to load it as you would for regualr shotguns but it would take out the need to consitantly load one in and take one out to repeat. One shell per click and about seven per pile.

+1, I don't see why not. It's customization with some utility that can't really unbalance the game in regards to the webbing-type attachment.

As a backpack it depends how long it'll take to load.

first I thought it's for the SADAR shells and almost cried of happiness, then I read the topic and got the biggest disappointment ever.
doesn't change my +1 though.

it is true that you can load the shells from the box, but this is a game where a mere second can be the difference between life and death, and considering that the bandolier was something int he base games files to begin with, it should be hard to do.

Bandoliers aren't coded for weapons under the two-handed class.

Well either way this is a brilliant idea, and could easily solve the issue

I think about 30 shells is enough as a maximum storage. As said above, you wont even go through half of the 60 shells with the slow fire rate and reload. Also, I think putting in on the belt would actually make the shotgun a viable primary weapon and we would have dedicated shotgun class.

I'd be alright if we replaced backpacks with a double cross bandoleer deal for mechanical reload instead of inserting every shell by hand. For one reason, the bandoleer would look fucking bad ass knowing stamos and his spriting skillz, and You attempting to reload one shell at a time is a tad tedious.

+1 if we could have a bandoleer in the belt slot, that works similarly to the smartgun's powerpack of loading, except it gradually loads shell by shell when you click the top left icon as long as you don't move. Also you can fill the belt by transferring individual shells in to refill.

Sure, I think it would look good as that, or at a diagonal slant. Either way, PRAISE BE TO JOSHUA, KING OF SPRITES!

That being said the shading on that sprite is spectacular. You can really see the curvature.

For what i've read in the forums and from the devs, the shotgun is going to use clips or magazines in the next update.

+1. Sooo necroing this old thread to get some closure on it? Since we had a new update that changed the shotgun ammo back into individual(ish) shells, this makes this topic back on course to being relevant.

A regular load bearing belt can hold about 7 or 8 handfulls of 5 shells, meaning about 40 shells, with an additional 20 in your armor and pockets, not counting your backpack which can store many full BOXES of shells.. no, I think we're good on needing a shell bandolier.

Get webbing, fill it with shotgun shells, there you go -- shotgun bandolier. This is pointless.
