Queen revamp

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary)

Right so we all remember this from Aliens right?

Well my idea is to have this in the game. At roundstart the queen will start in her basic walking form the kind we all know today. She can go around and do queeny things then when she feels like settling down she can grow her Ovipositor. When this happens the queen becomes immobile but can start making eggs, much like the film depicts. She can create resin structures and eggs around her ovipositor with a blobovermind control. The queen can detach and re-attach whenever she likes, but the Ovipositor stays put, also when the queen gets off it she takes some damage, roughly half i'd imagine.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole)

Add in more alium immersion and also have a way to quickly build up hive structures near the queen without having to wait for hivelords and drones to come


Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it)

For the ovipositor you would have to make some sprites and have a way for it to spawn behind the queen when she decides to make it.
And for the blobovermind style control of it you would just have to switch (Somehow) the queen to the overmind thing.

I actually rather like this idea. In my mind the queen doesn't need to be mobile until they're ready to commit to an assault. This will also put them on par with the marine CO counterpart of not being on the front lines but still be formidable.

Neat idea I like it. Turns the queen into more of a CO than just another alien. Plus it makes the hive more than just a location with resin walls, eggs and nests. Its now a proper staging area.

I like the idea. It'd add a nice feel of you need to defend the hive even more, because the queen has been stuck immobile.

+1 Overmind only works within a distance from the queen in her state, and will only work on weeds.

SO ANYWAYS... Yeah this is neato. And if I'm understanding this correctly, they'd be able to build structures on weeded tiles non-adjacent to them? This is also neato, and doesn't even require a range limit if it's limited by the weeds, since weeds can't be put down everywhere.

Note the queen can detach but it will take some of her plasma and health away. and make her movement slowed for about a minute or two

Note a Queen could not "re-attach to an ovipositor once broken from it. She would grow another wherever she decided to position again. The old ovipositor simply becomes a husk and gets taken in by the resin structures.

This would be really cool, it would be even cooler if the Queen could spew acid out of resin or whatever to break down other objects/walls so that she could make room in the Hive.

Also this would need pullable eggs. The Drones gotta make some space for the newer eggs the Queen poops out.

What about when no one will be a drone and the queen has to do more than just lay eggs herself like build defenses and nests and such?

Pretty much something I've been pushing for a whole. Adding a mechanic to lay down fortifications around you is also a +1 from me.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.
