Queu production machines

Post by Sarah_U. » 11 Jun 2016, 14:13

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Make machines like the autholathe, protolathe and circuit printer able to queu requested printed items like the exosuit fabricator.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
It will make the tedious click-spam of the autholathe and RnD items much smoother as you need to scroll down everytime you make another item currently.
It'll also promote the idea of using these machines to deploy more equipment as a whole; Rather than simply printing one or two items and never touching it again.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
A researcher wishful to print a large quantity of items will be able to set his list and return to his work, coming back later for the items.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Steal Use the exosuit fabricator code and rework it on the required machines.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Good hunting.

That was probably me, and i'll stop mass printing flashlights when we can get flare packages. It takes a long time to print out those flashlights and get them to the field in a timely manner.

Or conversely add a x5 or x10 option which will print them at once but scales the time it takes to print respectively

+1 to above and opening post.

Helps to print out a lot of things if you need a lot of them. Waiting on those flare boxes so no need for infinite flashlights.

It gets annoying when I try to print something only to have the screen refresh and moved back to the top. Make it so that the screen doesn't refresh and I'll be set

+1, but with the caveat of the x5/x10 option. i think having it might cause problems if you could que up anymore then 5-10 items at a time. heck, you could jsut remove the x5/10 option and jsut have a limit of 5ish items.
