>2016+2
>not embracing the UNSUCK
>not being the single and most important protagonist in the round
>not surving the unbeatable odds single handledly
it's like you love to lose the round.

I'll admit, sometimes I'm guilty of being angry at a death or something that happened during a round. But overall, I do agree that the winning = fun mindset is awful. I didn't come to SS13 and/or Colonial Marines to win rounds. I came for the experience. For the stories to be told. Whether a round is won or lost, whether I'm a xeno or a marine, it doesn't matter. Sure, I'm going to try to "win", as in play whichever role I get in a fun and meaningful manner, but it's about the journey, not the destination. Yes, I know that saying is cringey, but it works here.

Back in my corps the marines were pussies who bitches about every nerf they got and every buff the xenos got. They never thanked the devs and we liked it like that.

Nothing changed except a few of us realized the devs were human. A few of us atleast.

Important for new comers in the community to become active in the talks but they need to truely embrace the suck of things and love their devs and the hard work they put in. No matter how misguilded you might think they are. Give your opinion but don't throw a bitch fit. Keep it light hearted. Because the games gonna suck for someone no matter how they change things. You might just happen to be that person at the moment.

I ain't saying suck anyone's dick but like bois you gotta see you ain't the center of attention here. I am.

Don't worship any member of the community as some saint or hero with all the answers either. Because people don't always got the facts or everything they need to make the best choices ya dig? Unless it's me of course. I know everything. Because I'm the best, even if I haven't played in a few months or someshit.

Nah, thats for losers.

Im still gonna win against all odds. \m/

One can kill a xeno, but only a team of well led marines can take a victory.

Let’s get to the CIC and lead this ship to victory. Have faith in the corps and be competent brothers.

Yeah no winning is the funniest.
On another hand being hateful for loosing is dumb.

I never get angry anyway. Just a bit on FH.

The top of suck embracing is knowing that, it is better to suicide than giving the xenos a host.

Nah, the greatest embrace of suck is to sacrifice yourself to the Xenos to spawn more Larva and make OTHERS embrace the suck!

I remember when attachments were for the weak. I remember when you had to make your own bayonet. I remember when the only thing standing between you and death's cold embrace was a set of ladders! I remember when the Squad Leader had to throw (And later, plant) beacons. I remember when, before tracking beacons, you had to find the Leader on your own, and he was the only one with a helmet camera!

Despite all of that, I'd go back to it all.. For the chance that fucking helmets stopped fucking facehuggers, like they used to.

No you wouldn't because you would cry about every alien carrying huggers and slapping you in the face with them. Shift + click, q, x, q, GG

Especially ravagers. Sorrt but a rav on frenzy was fucking fast and would just double facehug.

Yeah. That's a good point.. Hugger combat was a bitch. It's like a fucked up clown with claws hitting you in the face with two pies in a row. Pies that kill you.

But! I remember the exploit where you could shake a hugged person up, and they could stab the hugger. Or, you could just manually rip it off of their face, which could break their skull.

I wish we could still do the latter. I mean, Hell, I'm sure a synthetic would be strong enough if that's the concern.

This game is simply the greatest military sim I’ve ever played, more than Arma.

Sitting around endlessly with your dick in your hands, waiting for updated orders.
Guarding faceless warehouses for hours while filling sandbags.
Sitting around complaining about how boring said guard duty is, while enduring tedious small talk with other marines.
Alternatively spending most of your time hauling equipment or filling out paperwork.
Dragging priceless supplies from point A to point B, only to find out the orders were messed up and you have to drag it all the way back.
Trying to coordinate a military operation with other marines who all realistically have the education of a high school diploma.
Hoping that fellow marines don’t accidentally shoot you in the back of the head, or a plane dropping napalm on you because it was given wrong coordinates.
And the bleak, total finality of death.

CM gave me the soul-crushing monotony of the military without having to actually join the military.
