Loving the love given to faster clicks to equipping items and loading shotty shells.

I'm also happy about the OB warning being removed (at least I believe it's been removed), it allowed way to much time for the Xenos to move out of the way

I think it went a bit too far in the other directions, now it is magical easy death from the sky marked only by your game freezing for a few seconds.

Saw one yesterday, its pretty much a gib for any direct hit unless rav/crush/queen and a solid crit for anything at 6 tiles away plus burns

The faster click speed for loading shotty shells is amazing. On the subject of the OB's, if the removal of any sort of warning for the xenomorphs is intended, it is balanced out by the fact that OBs take much longer to fire do to having to physically load the shell and propellant, as well as the fact that only the HE shell is really useful since fire is still very weak.

Due to complaints surfacing over the USS Almayer's "lack of personality" USCM High Command has decided to hire an interior decorator to add "new life" to the ship. Funding for this project has been deducted from the battalion currently stationed aboard the Almayer.

It's a bit more than interior design. They remodelled most of the ship. It's more cluttered and filled with things now, so it really reminds you that you're on a spaceship. I suggest doing a quick observe round to really see it.

SD is now also impossible to hold, so there's that.

Hold engineering and the corridors outside SD and its basically just as holdable

These corridors always fall

it's just a way to get rid of enough people to actually activate SD/Send distress beacon/Activate evacuation

You're totally right a 2x tile corridor is harder to hold than a 5x tile wide entrance. Oui oui. Sarcasm. Honhon.

SD was literally a death trap tin can that always was the death of all Marines cause they’d just pile in even though that many Marines in one place wasn’t even as effective.

It was gonna happen sooner or later.

People kept abusing the "lets bring 3 MGs into the SD so the xenos can't stop the self destruct" meta to the point that of COURSE staff were going to nerf it. At least your MGs didn't get nerfed as well, though.

maybe if benos weren't so broken, we wouldn't have had to abuse machineguns.

I'm not saying we didn't deserve the SD nerf, because we totally did.

Nobody is surprised about the SD nerf.

Smart cookies always held corridors and the dunces would always go on the SD.

Why the majority of marines would go in a kill box where you either cant fire or risk FF beats me.

You may die holding engineering and the corridoors but you're 10x more useful.

The argument around SD defense, where to defend is absolutely mind boggling, complaining about nerfs - all of it, mind boggling.

No matter what side, xeno or marine, SD defense is a lot of shit and almayer fighting is dogshit for both sides too. It should've been removed forever ago, and I long for the day where a more fun end game solution presents itself.

Holding a narrow corridor is much harder, only two marines can shoot at the same time, without MGs you are only tickling crushers. Not even mentioning the constant blocking.

EDIT: I like the nerf though. Marine wins should happen on the planet.

I personally don't count marine wins that happen on the almayer. True marine majors happen on the planet.

It'd be a lot easier to charge the dropship and get the shit over with if comms didn't go out when ayys crash but that's how it be. The alamo just had to do it to em.

Game would be better if it ended when the marines are pushed off the planet

I feel like as it is right now that would end things to soon with how bad marine defences are. There would be no drama and very little fun for the shipside crew (as if they get much fun as is)

To end things on the ground would require a massive overhaul, but I wouldn't mind it really. Shipside battles can be really lame, the ground is where the most fun is for the most people.

I would like a lot more if the crash-stage had a whole lot more oomhp overall. I like it a lot, but right now there's basically 3 possible ends:

1. All humans on the ship are dead or captured.

2. All xenos on the ship are dead.

3. SD is activated.

This leaves a stage of the round filled with meta and confusion as to exactly what to do. Number 2 is a longshot with primetime populations, and 3 is only slightly more feasible. Number 1, the most common, is often the most drawn out and boring altogether, often lengthened by people either hiding or lying in pain-crit under dead bodies.

It doesn't seem like theres much motivation at that point, for the xenos its just a murder frenzy til everyone's dead, and for the marines it basically becomes a suicidal death cult worshiping the blood god "Ess-Dee" and his 6 totems of power as they rise from the ground, waiting for their chance to obliterate themselves and everything else.
